There it is and it's interesting that Harry now has advance 'warning' of what is to come. I'm assuming he will keep his mouth shut (a good idea for multiple reasons) and let things play out as they will. I found it ironic that Harry was so childish with Dumbledore and then incensed at being called out for it, which compounds the childishness. Harry, like any barely teenaged boy, has a lot of maturing to do.

I loved the conversation with McGonagall. JKR never bothered much with that side of the story, this should have happened in canon. It was nice seeing her not only as a responsible head of house but also as a friend to the son of some of her favorite former students.

Ok, so here I have a problem with some of the logic here.
How the hell can Lucius still think that Draco is the heir Black?!
Harry is 12 and got the ring… wouldn’t Malfoy’s ask for the ring already?! He definitely would.
This is mostly for some of the people that leave weird reviews… because seriously it is illogical for Malfoy not to (try) get the ring, it comes with benefits after all (look at what Dumbledore could do as guardian in one of the previous chapters).
So I really really hope that Lucius actually knows and is just playing the Greengrass’s and maybe thinks that his wife can get the book or something (didn’t she and Bella gave orders to Krecher in canon? He can get it for her).
Also one of the reviews was about betrothal? And that Malfoy would negotiate and sign it? Well, he can’t. He isn’t a Black and isn’t guardian of the heir (if guardian even can do that). At the least said contact would be simply invalid if it was about “heir Black”, and it could only be seen as “attempt line theft” and “attempt usurping head of house” or something like that. But it is impossible for it to be actually binding for Harry. Even if Narcissia was the one to sign, as she isn’t said heir guardian or regent either.
And author said something about emancipation at his 13th birthday? He will probably appoint a proxy for Black seats, so the Malfoy’s will know (if they already didn’t). And I have a feeling that Lucius actually is using them.
So if Malfoy’s and Greengrass’s sign a contract it probably would be valid (for Draco and Daphne) if they didn’t put “heir Black” in it.
If the author of this fic isn’t trying to show Lucius Malfoy as an incompetent idiot, I really hope that Lucius actually knows. If he doesn’t then it isn’t just fic in “humor” category but simply so-called “crack”.
In the stories that aren’t ”crack” I really hope for some logic… there is a fic where a contact between Harry and Daphne sign by Narcissia was actually valid, because it was signed when Harry actually was still underage and didn’t have a guardian (between Dumbledore death and Harry’s 17th b-day). A little far fetched, yes. But still somewhat logical.
But in this fic? It would be Impossible and illogical.

How will it be when the green grasses find out they are being duped.

Just suggestion Harry convenience Daphne that he knows heir black and he isn’t Darco. Then tells her to do negotiations with Lucius. Put clause that heir black can cancel bethrotal contract if he wants but damage money should be paid from Malfoy account.
Harry will get required information from book with help of heir black and pass it to her. In return he will get the money that they get from mAlfoy account

This can be interesting in three ways.
1) when Harry cancel it Lucius gets big dent on his fortune and the humiliation.
2) it can start friendship and corespondent between Daphne and Harry for upcoming year. Since he helped her sister.
3) In future if he wants to cancel bethrotal between Lucius and Narcissa. This can be reason of Lucius acting against interest of Black family. With already dented Malfoy fortune and return of Black dowry and businesses Lucius can be broke. Now that can be final nail on Lucy’s coffin.

Oh dear, Malfoy is manipulative.

I think it would be interesting to see Harry hide the fact that he is Heir Black from Daphne, get away from them and call Kreature to him once he’s in an empty compartment. Have the elf deliver said book to Lord Greengrass, explaining to the man that Draco isn’t actually the Heir Black and simply ask that he stop with the marriage contracts and allow Daphne to chose marriage through love or something or another.

Could set up a unique dynamic for 3rd year where she thinks knows who “saved” her and her sister. Leading her to try and needle the information out of Harry by getting him to slip up.

Whatever way you take this I’m excited for what’s next.

Tigar/lion animagus or even better if he could dig up a way to be a magical animagus it would be even better.
