Natalie Rushman chapter 9 . 8/3/2022 Ooof the conflict in this chapter was INTENSE. I feel so bad for Loki. It's so hard to be in his position - - by which I mean being the subject of your parents' arguments. I have nothing but imagination to get me the rest of the way. My goodness. In a way, it's nice to know Odin had a reason beyond being evil. But that said. Dude. He's your kid. I have no children of my own by birth, but I do have several who are mine nonetheless. And this isn't okay. It was interesting too too see the way you handled Frigga here. Their relationship with each other - Odin and Frigga - is awful. And it doesn't seem like their relationship with either of their kids is better. I want to say Frigga is better than Odin (is it possible to be worse?), but at the same time, it almost feels like she's enabling Odin's behavior with her kindness. Like her mercy makes up in some way for his violence, when in reality - in my opinion - the only thing it truly helps is her own guilt. It's ugly, but it's all very real, and very honest. And I hope it holds a chance for healing. Steve was nothing short of inspiring here. When he grabbed Odin's arm - chills. Like. Woah. I had to re-read the lines twice just to really soak it in. It was so awkward that the avengers were all there for the family dysfunction, but I am so glad they were there to protect him at the end there, and maybe to start helping him heal. And while I'm thinking of healing, for all their - shall I gently say 'misbehavior' - the healing that Odin and Frigga did was visually stunning. I love the way you wrote that. I really hope Loki and everyone can work this all out in some way. And I hope you're doing okay. I don't know if it helps, or if I'm overstepping in some way, but I want you to know that I've been praying for you. |
Dream Plane chapter 9 . 7/20/2022 Had to come back because I forgot my other favorite part: Steve is so crazy brave! He definitely despises bullies, and I love how his ideals come out in his actions when he confronts Odin and Frigga. |
Dream Plane chapter 9 . 7/20/2022 Oh wow, I can vividly feel the raw emotion in this chapter. I was waiting to see them arrive and the fallout from it, and you didn’t disappoint. Bravo! Thor’s regret was so sad, and I love how you include Clint’s backstory in between the action. I sympathize with Frigga to some degree (your description of her being dressed like she’s going to tea is probably the most accurate description I’ve read anywhere, I can’t get over it! *squees*), but she has really messed up in her attempts to help and her justification of what she helped Odin do. Oh my, the way they take advantage of the memory loss is just deliciously devious. Where is Thor now? Is he ok?! I’m so scared for him and everyone else, haha. This mess is not over for sure. Great job as always, and sending lots of virtual hugs your way! 3 |
Dream Plane chapter 8 . 7/20/2022 Ouch ouch ouch! Poor Clint! And poor Thor, what did they do to him to make him so?! The meeting with Jane and Darcy as well as fight between the brothers was absolutely heartbreaking, and I can’t get enough of you use of Norwegian! Nice job! |
Courtesy Trefflin chapter 9 . 7/17/2022 I really enjoyed seeing the flashbacks with Loki, after Thor first brought him to Earth, and how Clint felt about it all. Loki’s condition sounds truly awful! Oof. I have no idea how Odin thought that torturing Loki so badly was a good thing. *cries* I am not surprised that Thor was so torn up over Loki’s condition, especially since he promised to protect him, and it feels like a personal failure for him. I really like seeing how Clint felt about everything in the beginning, when Loki first came there. Thor breaking down and apologizing to Loki, promising never to hurt him again really hurts so, so badly after the previous chapter. *sobs* Clint comforting Thor while he breaks down was nice. But again, given the last chapter, it hurts so much. And the present day scene of Clint talking to Loki, staying at his bedside while he barely clings to life because of Thor… Ouch. I’m glad to learn more about how Thor learned of Loki’s state and ended up rescuing him and bringing him to Earth. And Clint being the one who’s breaking down at Loki’s bedside… *cries* How things change. The Bifrost bringing Asgardians… Oof. I hope Loki will be alright. I don’t blame Steve and Natasha in the least for drinking. All of the Avengers are struggling with guilt, since Loki is their friend, and they feel that they failed him. Ow. Why does this have to hurt so much? Of course, Odin is just grumpy and angry about it, and of course, he cares more about dragging Thor back to Asgard than he does about Loki’s condition. Steve interjecting that if they hurt Loki, he will be avenged… I adore him! Only he would be courageous enough to say that to literal gods. Lol. Steve is so awesome. I love it when he gets so protective of his team. I like that Frigga is so adamant that Odin help her in Loki’s healing. The spell working and healing Loki was great. Loki freezing when he sees his parents… *cries* It makes sense that he’s still disoriented about his surroundings and what’s happened. Odin and Frigga getting into a violent argument wasn’t really surprising, though. Odin having the nerve to say that the torture wasn’t “real”, because it could have been a lot worse. *glares* Someone needs to take him down a notch or a million. I loved Loki yelling at them both. They deserved it, and he deserved the chance to vent his feelings. I’m glad that Odin and Frigga got kicked out. The last thing Loki needs is to have to deal with them. Thor planning to kill himself because he didn’t know what was happening with Loki is awful. I liked all the Avengers trying to comfort Loki while he breaks down. I really wonder what it is that Loki is saying he did to Clint… I loved this chapter so, so much! :D |

hellomynameisv chapter 9 . 7/17/2022 you know, I didn't think this fic could get any more intense, but then you give us THIS. that whole confrontation seemed so real oh my gosh |
SunDance Lokidottir 11 chapter 8 . 7/16/2022 Tomgirlbre, I think the beginning was a flashback from when Thor first brought Loki from Asgard. I think. I was super confused at first too |
raysofsunshine613 chapter 9 . 7/16/2022 You're doing amazing! This is a beautiful story. I was going to say that life gets better, but that never really helps, so I'll just remind you that you have loving fans and we all care about you. You've got this, darling. |
Silverstripe234 chapter 9 . 7/16/2022 I was screaming “WHAT THE FUCK?!” The entire time I read Frigga’s and Odin’s fight. |
MandalorianPirate chapter 9 . 7/16/2022 I was looking forward to when his parents came and boy I was not disappointed. Things are heating up now and I can't wait to read what happens next! This is great! |
Tomgirlbre chapter 9 . 7/16/2022 I'm confused? Last chapter Clint was fighting Thor (whom had disappeared along with the chitauri) in defense of Loki and standing in between him and that guy who wanted to shoot him a few chapters ago, now he's sitting with Thor and wishing Loki was dead in the first couple paragraphs? He's tired sure but that doesn't explain the complete 180 in attitude, nor Thor's sudden reappearance and evident concern for Loki... Also Clint addresses Thor and then Thor outright disappears again but it's not acknowledged, I think everything after that matches the storyline and is written really well but the first quarter of the chapter is incredibly confusing |
SunDance Lokidottir 11 chapter 9 . 7/16/2022 Pushed the wrong button, was not trying to post that yet... Let me just pause in my rant and say that you write Odin spectacularly. You capture all of his self-centered stupidity, mix in a little blame shifting and arrogance and tie it all together with his slightly askew, demonic logic. He and Thanos should get together to decide who's worse. "What the bleep is wrong with both of you!?" Loki, that is the question of the century. "Thanos getting involved in the Nine again is entirely your fault..." Again, Odin, NO ITS NOT. UNGRATEFUL?! WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU ODIN?! YOU'RE NO BETTER THAN THANOS! YOU ACT ALL RIGHTEOUS, SAVING HIM FROM THANOS AND YOU DID EXACTLY WHAT THANOS WOULD HAVE DONE! WHERE IS YOUR LOGIC?! Steve catching Odin's hand and making it hurt was the most satisfying thing ever. I love Fury right now. Then the anger fades, replaced by fear. They really need to find Thor before Odin tries to smite Earth. On the bright side, hopefully Loki has his magic back now that he's healed. At least, physically. Are they going to figure out why their minds are still tied? At least Loki hasn't been dragged back to Asgard. At least, not yet. Awesome chapter, looking forward to more! Have a great day |
SunDance Lokidottir 11 chapter 9 . 7/16/2022 I think I stopped breathing during that argument. I hate Odin and now I hate Frigga too. "He was the one imprisoned and he was worried about me," Very true. Thor breaking down was perfect. The brothers are so broken... Barney is definitely on the most hated characters list. Asgard is so messed up. The best part of Ragnarok was Odin dying. "So will you please wake up before Asgard gets here and ruins everything?" If only. Though that was a much needed confrontation. Still, this is a very dangerous game. I love JARVIS in this. He delivers the cold facts, but not in a cold way. "Complicated is a good word for that." Yeah. That. "...spots the Warriors Four... Why not, right?" Glad they haven't caused any drama. At least, not yet. "Bravery, some would call this. Stupid is what Clint wants to slap on as a label." Gotta agree with Clint on that one. "Okay. Yeah. He's going to get smited. And yet- Same." Yeah. That pretty much sums up my thoughts as well. Clint, you should ask if Steve got a little drunk. I wanna know now. "I'm so glad that you're alright..." I hate her. She's as bad as Odin. Frigga slapping Odin earned her a redemption point. A very very small one. "Loki is the one who got that madman dragged into our lives in the first place..." EXCUSE ME?! You mean how he got TORTURED because he committed SUICIDE BECAUSE OF YOU?! How far you will go to blame Loki truly astounds me, Odin. Loki didn't exactly ASK to be TORTURED! HE WANTED TO DIE! Maybe if you were a better FATHER OR EVEN JUST A BETTER PERSON THIS WOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED! "We could have done much worse than that." WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! "Oh, sorry that hurt, but it could have been worse? My bad?" |
Natalie Rushman chapter 8 . 7/13/2022 The action here was so good! And not just that - dude. I'm trying to figure out what the best part was, but they really all have their own special strength. The drama of Jane and Darcey trying to deal with this, Clint and Loki finally having the conversation at the worst time, the fight! Is all amazing. Each part was written carefully and thoroughly- you know how sometimes things read like filler? Reading it, you just know the author really wanted to get to whatever special part? This does not do that. Every scene read like it might be THE scene. You know, I might have to pick the last bit as my favorite though,... The tension of not knowing what's going on and guessing it has to be worse than what Steve initially said and just waiting to know. And even though I guessed it it still hit me like a ton of bricks. And that moment where Thor showed up? With the air praise changing and the thunder far away... the visuals there were stunning, and I could practically feel it. So good. Honestly, I cannot tell you enough how much I'm enjoying what you're doing with this. |
