Mercury ended up being Team Cinder's MVP, who would have thought? He maybe got both Jaune AND Pyrrha for them. And he did all that just by casually being himself. He was just the right person, at the right place, at the right time.

Man I wish Jaune wasn't such a punkass bitch and actually suffered the consequence of igniting a continental race war but nah instead he's getting pegged in a fairytale village while ignoring that he has more blood on his hands and lives he ruined than he ever saved.

This is just a worse version of null where Jaune is just a spineless rat. Pyrrha is a nothing character and just gave up trying to for Weiss a third of a way through, she gets her througt slit, DIES and gets a unironic legitimate phobia for the faunes only for to get swept under the rug with a time skip and no follow through. JUST so you could have one of the most bland, draw out unappealing love triangle I have ever read.

What was the thought process that this would be satisfying to anyone?

Ironwood fucked up big time. What made him think it was a good idea to make Jaune do an interview with someone that's going to intentionally antagonize him? Under normal circumstances it would have been fine, but...
1) He was suddenly taken from his home and suddenly found out about the leaks.
2) He didn't have a choice in doing the interview.
3) He did a hospital visit which left him exhausted so he won't be able to control his anger as easily.
4) He did the interview straight after the hospital visit, and only a few hours after finding out about this whole ordeal, so he didn't have time to rest and process this and calm down.

Also, Landgreen and Sally are probably dead now. Should have learned from the incident at Ansel.

It would be an interesting alternative to canon. This time Jaune did get Weiss and immediately, even, but it wasn't what he wanted and started gravitating towards Pyrrha on his own, rather than her seeking him out and being dense about her affections.
