![]() ![]() ![]() Great first chapter |
![]() ![]() ![]() He’s using more power instead of his brain could have brought out an anti magic weapon and surprised Gojo. great update looking forward to more |
![]() ![]() ![]() damn can't stop laughing at the last part |
![]() ![]() ![]() Good chapter. It makes sense that caladbolg could counter infinity considering infinity expands space and caladbolg distorts space. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Wouldn't UBW act as a buffer against infinity? Shroud possesses a type of unending reality in a part of his soul so he'd be able to have some type of resistance to the mental effect anyway wouldn't he? |
![]() ![]() ![]() Amazing! |
![]() ![]() i like this please continue and thanks for this chapter |
![]() ![]() I liked the development so far and read on But please if you can without harem please Translated with Google translate No harem |
![]() ![]() To Wyrm Complete Materials -Kanshou and Bakuya. User: Archer Twin short swords wielded by Archer. When both are equipped at the same time, they enhance the user’s anti-magic and anti-physical attributes, and their own rank as both weapons and Noble Phantasms increases. "Meteoric Iron" has never been a thing in explaining the abilities of Kanshou and Bakuya, they are Noble Phantasms and their abilities are correspondent to their legend and status granting them their conceptual abilities |
![]() ![]() ![]() I edited the last bit of my response to Wrym's comment: Also, I explained it in the chapter, but Shirou stuck to Kanshou and Bakuya because of familiarity, compatibility, preference, and habit. They are super cost-efficient, so he can last long in a fight while being near his best. He doesn't need to use a crap ton of mana because they have no True Name activation, and they have the rank raise and other stuff when wielded together. That's not even mentioning that Shirou doesn't need to force his body to follow the wielder's superhuman skills because he's using his own—Archer's—experience. Shirou strains his body only when copying servant stats. The skill required to wield his weapons/NPs usually goes hand in hand with copying a servant's strength and speed stats—the only ones he can copy along with skill/experience, but I don't think that counts as a stat. But with Archer, he already has a good portion of his skill copied and turned into his own. So he would only feel strained when he copies stats from Archer, not from using Kanshou and Bakuya by himself. This doesn't apply to other weapons because he copies their wielder's skill and stats in tandem. That might be headcanon, but I doubt Shirou or Archer could copy them separately. It would explain why Archer doesn't often deviate from his usual weapons—the married blades, Caladbolg, Hrunting, and bow and arrows. Though I'm sure in other weapons, he experiences a lag because it's not his skill, and he strains his body to keep up with a servant's strength/movements. But with the married blades, he already has the skill ingrained in him without needing to draw it from the weapon, so he doesn't risk straining his body because he doesn't need to copy anything. I didn't mention Shirou copying anyone's stats in his fights because he doesn't do it for long since it strains his body. Shirou said he could do it, but it's only practical for him in short bursts. If he did it the entire time during Hanami's fight, he would run out of stamina or slip up early. I edited the chapters and battle to mention him using Archer's stats only once when he stacked his mana and cursed energy reinforcement. |
![]() ![]() ![]() The new chapter is next week. I'm moving back to the bi-weekly upload schedule because I noticed the amount I write doesn't reach my chapter word count goal—about four thousand words minimum. I edited Nanami's conversation with Gojo thanks to a reader pointing out some issues. And Shirou's conversation with Nanami in chapter 7 about his cursed technique—magecraft—was from his point of view, so it didn't show Nanami's inner thoughts. The new edited call with Gojo hints at Nanami's response. To moose master5543: Yup, he could be better depending on which weapon he chooses. But I think Shirou's strength is dependent on how he utilizes them. Gojo's got a lot of bullshit strength since he can't run out of cursed energy, nearly one-shot Hanami with Purple, and other stuff. Shirou has tons of op weapons, but it won't matter if Gojo deletes him before he can utilize them properly. My reason for giving Shirou both will show up later. To taiwoeretan1: Thanks a lot! I tried to write how Shirou would fit in with their dynamic. To nanashihaisha and RenegadeForLife: I'm glad you guys liked the story! It means a lot to me! To negi83: His bow skills will show up more often in the upcoming fights. To fitstickman: Dang, got it in one. Props for getting it right away! The reason for that scene and future ones happening will be apparent later. To Null-polaris: He will learn it, and you'll find out how it's different from UBW soon. To Stand Up To Be Strong, Yoroyuza Forever & SilverstormXD: I'm glad you like how I portrayed their relationships! And I'm honestly excited to show you the weapons he pulls out and how he uses them! To a crashclown: You got a chuckle out of me! And when you think about it, Gojo's the Sorcerer King, and the Culling Games is the New Sorcerer Era. To Kiyoponical: All I can say is he didn't lose/forget any memories, at least from before the Grail Hole. And yup! He'll use a bunch throughout the story! To Jerry Brylle Floro Gemoto: He can technically reinforce her body and their weapons, but he won't be able to teach her magecraft because only Shirou has circuits. To NoNameReviewer: That's an interesting point, and it's funny because I considered that concept and those lines from Archer when trying to think of some scenes and compare his strength to special-grade sorcerers. To Reaper200851: I'm glad you liked the chapter, and I use some guides online when writing his dialogue. To jairoesme: Yup! Shirou's going to get the shonen protagonist experience, among other things. To IronPan: It's a great idea, and I can't wait to show you where I take the story! To Frescko: You'll find out during their encounters. I don't have any plans for Angra Mainyu. So I wouldn't get my hopes up. To Guests: You'll find out when he learns it. Also, how he uses them and how they interact with the world will become apparent later. And yup, it'll be a huge shock! Sorry about that! I fixed the combat thing and the root contradiction you mentioned. I missed it when I was editing the part that Shirou didn't know about it before. Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it! These two are separated from the others because of their length. And sorry that it's super long! I tried to cover any issues you found from the chapters and why Shirou only used the married blades. I'd read them both since they're somewhat connected. TLDR, if you don't want to read it all, but I recommend it: Shirou didn't think to use anything but the married blades because they are literally the best, most compatible, and most efficient swords for him. And it's become a habit because they were the most effective weapons for him in the Grail War when he began to pull his weight. He also saw their capabilities with Archer, so he knows they work in almost every combat scenario except long-range. To Makimass: Shirou was cautious and wanted to keep magecraft a secret by classifying it as his cursed technique. But he was iffy about using magecraft because he wasn't sure if Nanami and other people would see it that way. Despite Hanami forcing his hand early, Shirou planned to reveal it eventually, but he wanted more reassurance they would buy his lie. They did, but as you pointed out, Shirou fumbled the bag, which Nanami should've caught. I fixed that, and thanks for the feedback! I edited Nanami's conversation with Gojo to link it to Shirou's lie. Your advice about Nanami being suspicious lined up with what I had in mind for Gojo's meeting with Shirou in chapter eleven, so it worked out. Shirou wasn't reluctant to use Noble Phantasms in his fight against Hanami. When he knew his life was in danger, he gave up on caution and traced Kanshou and Bakuya. The issue was he didn't use anything else but Rho Aias. His fight with Gojo will make him realize his habit. He defaulted to the married blades most of the time in the UBW VN due to preference and their reliability (boost to rank/defensive stats). In this story, it's a bad habit for him because it's become his go-to fighting style without considering other possible options when they'd be helpful. I haven't finished the VN, but in the anime, he doesn't seem to use anything but Kanshou and Bakuya, except when he used sword spam against Gil and a little with EMIYA. But it made sense that he stuck to the blades he's most compatible and effective with since his armory wasn't stacked till he fought them, and most of his opponents—servants—were leagues ahead of him. At least to my knowledge, Shirou's never fought that way—switching between different weapons during battle to confuse/counter the opponent, so he instinctively chose what was comfortable. Archer may have done so outside the Grail War, and Shirou has some of his experience, but it's not enough for it to instantly become an option in his head during battle. Much less the chance of Shirou effectively carrying it out for the first time. Effectiveness aside, he could do it since he copies their skills, but it'd drain him quickly if he used powerful weapons like Gae Bolg, which require near-Lancer-level strength and speed/any level of servant stats, which are taxing on his human body. Other weapons like Black Keys would help a ton and wouldn't severely drain him, but his comfort with the married blades blinds him to other options. You could say it's a nerf on Shirou, but I don't think he's ever done anything remotely like that in the VN. I think it's more realistic that using the blades he knows the most all the time made him narrow-minded in battle. And now, he realizes his mistake and fixes it. But it'd be funny if he does things like that occasionally to the jjk cast so you can see their reactions. Shirou pulling out other weapons during the fight probably wouldn't have changed the fight's outcome other than having Hanami more battered before he escaped or his domain not lasting as long before he decided to book it. Maybe Shirou could win with Nanami if he fixed his bad habit beforehand, but Hanami's skill and strength were unknown. Shirou couldn't use his RM during the fight, and you saw the result when Hanami used his domain. And both sides were unprepared for how their opponents fought—and their skill sets—despite Hanami catching them by surprise at the start. Kanshou and Bakuya work so well for our Hero of Justices that it's Archer's go-to weapon when he's not acting like his class. It ranks up and gives physical and magical resistance when used together. It has a kick-ass move, and its compatibility with Hero of Justices is crazy high. For Shirou, he gets all that, and since he gained experience/skills himself—Archer, he doesn't have to force his body to keep up with the inhuman servant-level movements/skills as he does for most of his weapons. Using the married blades means his stamina won't drop quickly, and he can fight longer. The NPs he knows the most are from his Grail War. But he can't trace Excalibur, Rule Breaker is useless for this, lifting Berserker's axe-sword isn't practical, and using Assassin's blade isn't worth switching out the married blades if he can't perfectly replicate Tsubame Gaeshi. Also, he didn't bring out any other weapon—like Gae Bolg or Rider's chains—because of his habit of using the married blades, which he'll learn to break. He can access everything in UBW, but he isn't actively aware of each one's name and function until he browses through them. And Shirou didn't think to do that mid-battle because Shirou thought the married blades were the most reliable against an unknown opponent. The regeneration wasn't a big problem, so he didn't need to pull out any weapon to counter it when he was most effective with Kanshou and Bakuya in battle. Shirou only got messed up because he misunderstood Hanami's beam attack and his lack of familiarity with curses and jujutsu techniques. And it's understandable because it's his second fight against a cursed spirit, his first prolonged fight here, and it's against a disaster curse. Also, Shirou didn't consider sword spamming with Hanami because he'd be wasting mana unless it's guaranteed to work since he can't replicate Gilgamesh's constant fire until he's in his RM. Same for Archer, he hardly uses Gil's sword spam as a tactic because it isn't practical in most situations with his mana supply. However, Shirou used it on his recent missions because it efficiently took out numerous weak targets. To Wyrm: My bad! You're right about Gae Bolg's cursed wounds being hard to heal and the ones from the NP version remaining till the lance breaks or Lancer ga shinda. Though the wiki's not always accurate, it states that the married blades grant physical resistance when used together. I did some research and asked on Reddit. Nothing seems to confirm they have a heart, but I know they don't need it, so I'll leave it at that. Also, Gae Bolg probably requires a crazy amount of strength and speed to carry out regular attacks at an imperfect level, not to mention how straining it'd be to do the True Name Activation. Lancer uses all his servant/demi-god strength to do the thrown version. I'm not sure if Shirou can use the thrust version because there's a debate that it requires all of Lancer's skills—including rune magic, which he can't exactly copy. Either way, it'd be infinitely more taxing on Shirou to use either version, even for basic attacks, since he's a human, not a servant, much less possessing Lancer's demi-god strength/stamina. It's still super strong but not a practical option in his first prolonged fight with a curse of the highest grade with unknown abilities because it would quickly drain his stamina, mana, and so on. And he didn't figure out how to use cursed energy to bolster his magecraft reserves during this fight. He learns how to afterward, but he has to drain all his mana so it can work. So until he circumvents that, Gae Bolg and other weapons that require crazy amounts of strength, speed, and mana aren't practical because those weapons would drain him and strain his body. As a result, he won't last long in a fight, leaving himself or others open to attacks he doesn't have enough strength, stamina, or mana to defend. As for why he didn't use it for a short time before switching back to the married blades, Shirou hasn't done anything like that in the UBW VN. Though he only understood his powers at the end against Gil, I'd imagine the tactic didn't cross his mind when Kanshou and Bakuya were the best swords—for him. Also, if he uses Gae Bolg, he loses the physical and magical resistance buff from holding the married blades together. I admit he'd have crazy speed—imperfect and not at Lancer's level, but he could still be caught and tire out quickly because he's human and not a servant like Lancer, who can withstand going at those speeds for long periods. You can check Chapter 6's AN for why he didn't use a bow. But the idea is Hanami would instantly lock on his ass if he tried to do it or create any distance because he overheard/thought that Shirou was the weaker link. They were all already in close range anyways, and during this time, Shirou wasn't skilled enough to switch between close and ranged combat in battle without leaving himself open to Hanami. He could've asked Nanami to cover him, but Hanami has a wide range of attacks and could keep Nanami busy with a swarm of roots and then go straight for Shirou. The only time Shirou was a decent distance away was before Hanami activated his domain, but he wasn't in the best head space due to his wounds. He could have used the bow to fire at Hanami after he did Kakuyoku Sanren. But Shirou isn't perfect, and nothing he has could finish an injured Hanami off in one shot within a second or two—about the time Shirou had before Hanami beamed him—since Hrunting and Caladbolg take a little time to charge to get that real one-shot power. Also, I explained it in the chapter, but Shirou stuck to Kanshou and Bakuya because of familiarity, compatibility, preference, and habit. They are super cost-efficient, so he can last long in a fight while being near his best. He doesn't need to use a crap ton of mana because they have no True Name activation, and they have the rank raise and other stuff when wielded together. That's not even mentioning that Shirou doesn't need to strain his body to follow the wielder's superhuman skills or physical limitations of the weapon because he's using his own—Archer's—experience. There might be some strain since Archer's a servant, but it's severely mitigated due to crazy high synergy and his imperfection in copying someone's skills completely. |
![]() ![]() Some of the combat movements are a little iffy. He jumped on his sword while it was in the air to gain height? You didn't mention him somehow locking the blade in place spatially to act as a platform, so it wouldn't have worked. |
![]() ![]() He has o idea what he was was the Root. You stated that. Then contradicted yourself by having him know it was without any sort of realization moment. |
![]() ![]() Why wouldn't cursed spirits posess hearts? They have other organs like regular animals. They have flowing blood running through veins. Special grade curses may be capable of surviving as just a head, in some cases, but they have hearts that can be pierced. Gae bolg should also cause cursed wounds which refuse to be healed. Atleast until you have died. Even if Gea Bolg wasn't a one hit kill, it would deal extreme damage forcing a huge amount of cursed energy to be utilized for healing. He also posesses multiple anti regeneration and anti immortal weapons. He could have used his bow from a distance. He could have used holy weapons or other weapons connected to positive energy or effective against evil spirits or spirits in general. Heck i vaguely recall a mystic code in the form of a blade used for dealing with curses in general! And since when do Kanshou and Bakuya grant physical resistence? They are effective against phantasmal beasts and grant a bit of magic resistence when wielded together because they were made from meteoric iron. |
