did u have to kill so many good people...? It's a bit over the top when we could have a believable but happy ending.

I hope Jon remembered to rob them before he left it destroyed their manors. His coffers are running low after all.

Point of order: how did the statues in the crypts under Winterfell become "weathered"?
IRL examples such as markings inside the pyramids of Egypt, the ancient Italian quarries near Naples, the catacombs of Paris, and the ancient burial mounds of Ireland suggest that carved stone will be basically untouched by time in an underground environment unless it's practically flooded.
