Honestly your back and forth on what you add should be done with your Beta. I am a reader it distracts me from the story line. I am just going to stop reading this part. I only did because you said abortion. I do not agree with them and I don't read stories including them. Then I kept thinking you would turn around and tell us about an abortion. See this back and forth messes up your story line. I think get a beta and helpers go over these ideas with them then write.
