![]() ![]() ![]() I've really enjoyed this and is probably one of my favourite Harry Potter fanfics, and love the characterisation of Snape. I really hope you're able to continue with this at some point, especially as we get into the next couple of school years. |
![]() ![]() Really enjoyed reading this - I know it's been a few years, but if you were to pick it up again, I'd love to see where the story went! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Great story! I found it recently and binged reading both stories. Are you going to finish this? It is so good and I've immensely enjoyed reading this. I'm saving it to my list so I will be able to see if it ever gets updated. Best of wishes to you! |
![]() ![]() Great work! Please continue. All the best to you. |

![]() ![]() i love this series so much, no pressure of course but i really hope you continue it, i think it's my all-time favourite characterisation of Snape and Slytherin. I love reading these sorts of pics but I hate when all the first years behave like complete adults and talk politics and network and all the rest, whereas this feels so genuine and in-character, particularly Harry and Malfoy. Again I know this is a hobby but if you do continue I'm so excited for Third Year - especially Harry running away from the Dursleys and the Buckbeak incident and how Snape handles Black on the loose. I remember in The Eternal Point you mention Snape ends up caning someone in third year and I can't work out if it's going to be Draco or Harry but either way I'm looking forward to the story. Great writing! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I am genuinely in love with series and your characterizations. I can't wait to see you take it! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I stumbled on your first story just a few days ago and was immediately riveted. (Stayed up far too late several nights in a row because I couldn't put it down.) What a delightful world you've created here. There are times when I felt, "I wish Snape gave Harry more of a focus," but knew even as I thought it that your method fit much better with the characters you had created. The paths they take serve both the story and the characters exceptionally well. The way you develop the characters makes each of them come alive in such a vivid way. I especially love your attention to realistic characterization, specifically the way that real humans (unlike many fictional characters) don't necessarily have a linear progression. They falter, they backslide, they dissociate and end up acting counter to their beliefs due to laziness or habit or cowardice - and you portray all of that so wonderfully with Draco and Terence. Like I said, I love the world you've created. One critique I have - that I wouldn't normally mention on a fanfiction but you're a skilled enough writer that I think it's worth saying to you specifically - is that I think some of what you write sometimes can serve better as subtext. I can't think of any specific examples off the top of my head... I wish I had jotted down a couple of them when I noticed them because I think it's easier to explain with something tangible to point to. The next time I see one, I'll try to remember to point it out. Sometimes, less is more. A sample of what that might look like is Draco and Harry having an awkwardly heartfelt conversation, where neither one says thank you but both clearly mean it through their expressions or reading between the lines of their dialogue. You have a tendency on occasion to add lines about, "Harry was relieved they'd talked it over," or something to that effect. When in actuality your dialogue actually did an excellent job of conveying exactly that, and the direct statement undermines the poignancy of the well-written part that came before. Just a thought to consider. Like I said, I'll try to point out a real example if I see it again. I just think you're such a skilled writer that it's advice that can sharpen your prose even more than it already is. Looking forward to your next post. I noticed the last update was a while ago, so I hope that means another one is in the works and on the way - and not that this story is abandoned. Not sure how to feel about that possibility after investing so much engagement into the story, so I'm going to pretend that's not an option. |
![]() ![]() love this - can't wait for the next update |
![]() ![]() amazing story, i know it's really early and obviously no pressure to continue but I can't wait to see how this version of Snape handles Harry blowing up Aunt Marge and running away, really excited to see your resolution of the CoS |
