![]() ![]() Yeah, Sirius. What a marvellous idea! Get a couple familiar creatures to your island. Introducing non-native invasive species is a dear dear tradition all over the world after all. What could ever go wrong with that? Like rabbits in Australia. Those farmers are so happy that they can occasionally shoot a rabbit for their dinner, and aren't those fluffballs cute? How about introducing a couple pigs, rats, or cats? I think, apart from active works like mining or farming, these three are only the most terrible ecological disasters humans have introduced in faraway lands, ever. Or like the moron who thought it funny to release raccoons in Central Germany over a hundred years ago. It's fascinating how far away from the original place they have become pests by now. |
![]() ![]() I don't speak Spanish either, but as I understand it Spanish is not the same as Spanish. Put a Chilean, a Mexican, and a Spanish in a room and chances are that they have trouble understanding each other well. So, unless Sirius' spell uses the local dialect they can still have a hard time. It's just like with my language. We have a dialect continuum, everyone understands those from the neighbouring regions, but put someone from the north of Germany into a room with someone from the southern tip, if they don't speak standard German, they can barely communicate beyond grunting and pointing. Oh, and both will be proud of their dialect and see each other as a kind of barbarian for not understanding it. :-) What Sirius said when they got on the boat sounded a bit like Sledge Hammer's "Trust me. I know what I’m doing." I expected the same kind of result, of course. :-D Like, showing someone that you have gold ingots instead of local currency, which is about as inconspicuous as a North Korean passport with American English writing. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Crouch is an idiot seeing that this is all his sons faut. Seeing that it was his son who put the boys name in under a false school and condunded the goblet to chose him. Now he has to face the consequences for his actions. |
