Where does it say that Elizabeth's second husband is dead?

Oh boy! Intense story!

This would drive a person crazy! Try to grab a memory. An important memory.
Elizabeth's life is so tragic. But, Darcy's life is content, until this woman comes out to see him in his dreams.
I don't see how Elizabeth could be considered to be a bigamist. Her first husband was dead, as far as anyone knew. And Matlock investigated it. And her second husband is dead, thank goodness. So, it would seem to me, and what do I know?, that she was and is free to marry.
I love this story. But I am afraid if how much angst there is ahead for ODC.

It's hard to believe that this sad, sickly woman is our dear Elizabeth. So sad.

This is gripping reading but too much angst for me to continue in serial formyes, I’m a wimp! But I’ll come back when the story is complete

I hope he returns in the next chapter or two. I'm not sure Lz can withstand the cruelty of her, so called husband for much longer.

That was one of the most sorrowful, and saddest chapters I've ever read in a ppff. I don't even know how I got through it, w/o bursting into tears. Poor Lz.

oh wow, such a heartbreaking story, poor Elizabeth, poor Will, poor little baby Julia born from violence, I hope Elizabeth can forgive herself and her child. I was glad to see Kelly is her maid in this story as well, you know how much we all love the Kelly girls, Sarah and Moll!

So, did I understand this? The Earl intends to leave the property to the Colonel, but the Viscount will still inherit the title?

The opening blurb fills me with dread, but so far, each chapter is not so overly angsty.
The premise makes me go YIKES!

I'm very scared for Elizabeth and what will become of her once she remarries. It seems sadly she will be in an busier realtionship! But I am glad she has her children for comfort. She is such a wonderful mother and I know that no matter what happens Elizabeth the will protect her children from any abuse or pain! I love your protrayl of Elizabeth as a devoted and strong mother who is filled with courage and I can’t wait to see more of thy! Can’t wait for more
