Yes it's love! Jadzia and Worf loved each other endlessly, it was shown in the way they looked each other. They were the perfect match.

Wow, this really made me think. I mean, I think way too much about Deep Space Nine anyway, but this conversation was really great. I love the Sisko/Dax relationship in all its various incarnations - how they sort of alternate playing the mentor roles. Trills are SO FREAKING COOL! Yes. Anyway. I could never make up my mind about the Worf/Jadzia relationship. Possibly because I could never get over K'Ehlyr, possibly because I like Julian and think he should get what he wants, mostly because it sort of assasinated her character and she became all Klingon-tastic and basically stopped being all cool and Trill (although I guess having the war so that she couldn't do all her brilliant science-officer-y things could also be responsible for that last bit). So, basically, I love Worf lots from TNG, but I don't know why she loved him so much. And to get off my soapbox and actually talk about the fic, I'm not sure what you were trying to get across. I like your reasoning, and this story seems very much in character in many ways, but I'm not sure whether you were trying to show that Dax had legitimate concerns about this marriage (because, dude, marrying someone out of guilt is a totally bad bad idea), or whether you were trying to show that it actually *was* a good thing. I don't know - I guess I was expecting to come away from this story with the sense that Dax was really convinced that she wanted to marry him, rather than her being like "oh, I guess that's a good idea." But maybe that was your intention. Wow, this is like the longest, least helpful feedback in the history of the planet. Also: you rock for still writing DS9 fic, because I have totally been craving it of late, and I'm getting to the point where I might have to start writing it myself, and that's probably just not a good idea. Why DID Jadzia marry Worf? As far as I'm concerned it was probably the biggest mistake she ever made. Love? She saw his muscles and got all hot and bothered and that's all there was to it. He was constantly trying to control her. They were frequently sniping at each other, and contrary to some people's perceptions that is NOT a sign of true affection.

Meanwhile, the guy who REALLY cared for her and who was ALWAYS there for her - Julian - got left out in the cold!
