Just binged this story, its great. 10/10
I like that Winter and Jackpot accepted Jaune in spite of his lying, and pointed out to him that he learned VERY quickly for someone with zero background in huntsman/military training.
I would have liked some more reactions from Jaune's family - seeing as the last they heard of him he ran away to Vale, and then he's suddenly an Atlesian "war" hero sending back medals and shit.

I would love If there was a continuation featuring Adam being fully drafted into Salem's faction with RWBY and Pyrrha's team being the main target by Adam Tyrian and the Fang while in Atlas

No matter how many times I re-read, it's still jarring for Neon to be introduced as almost as out of place as Jaune in Atlas at the start of the story, since she's from Mistral, to being "Atlas born and proud" with the attitude. I know it's common to forget things like this after it's been weeks between that chapter and this one, but wow are the little details jarring at times.

Was thinking about this story after a while since i read it as it came out. I initially loved the premise of the story but as it went on i didnt like it so much, probably given that it tied into canon and went the very familiar mountain glen, vytal festival, cinder final boss story route. I think this fic wouldve been a lot more interesting had it been a completely new story set in Atlas rather than finding a way to tie it back to canon.

This story has been a wonderful read.

I can understand and buy Jaune being shaken by the ordeal. What I don't buy is Winter and company cudling him so much, to the point Winter reaveals something that seems REALLY personal. I understand that institutions nowadays offer counseling for those that need it, but they don't poke at you with a stick till you cave in and then offer you everything on a silver plater to get over it.

I realize now that the reason why I dislike these type of portrayals is because it overshadows Jaune's hard work in the early chapters. Ever since the Specialist appeared in the story, Jaune and his team went from hardworking underdogs that came out on top, to the team that gets everything they want by virtue of being special instead of hard work. I also dislike the casual air that you write authority figures with. How is one supposed to take seriously a character that's supposed to be hot stuff if you don't take the effort to properly characterize them as such? How can I (Someone who didn't watch the show past season 3) picture Ebi as a highly commemorated profesional when you have him act as a cocky smartass that never does anything to show him as anything but. What, never heard of "show don't tell"?

In hindsight they should have tipped Winter to tip Glynda.

Binged this all again and it was a solid 8/10 story.

In regards to the sausage cheese meal it sounds soo good

Rereading your story you really did just convice us all that Neptune stood wiess up. He was legitimately honest to her and told her he was to embarrassed to go with her to the dance.

Every time I read 'he had a clip for his gun' or variant of that, I imagine Jaune reloading his fixed-magazine SMG with a bunch of 5-round stripper clips like some sort of mirror world revolver

Great story, just wanted to point out that it's a little bizarre how their supposed teacher thinks it's normal to be manipulative and lie to Jaun and team so much. While it might help their development in the short term, it will also ensure that they never trust him again, and instill a "correct" (at least so far) belief that all Atlas superiors cannot be trusted at all costs.
