Hope ua come back man...
Rikoboi chapter 10 . 11/23/2023
Not really a fan of the, apparent at least, maybe sometime later something will make it better, lower quality or just weaker overall version of UBW. The chant is nice, and it might be because of what Bihev took from Swordman, but it's just an actually worse version of the OG with flowery prose, lol.

It's faster, and the weapons are "Everywhere", but those are the actual same benefits of the OG, the only reason it didn't seem to work that way it's because Redman was running on fumes the entire time and Redman Lily was a lvl 10 scrub pulling off that one lvl 100 skill with the help of the party's bard's buffs.

Loving the story so far anyways, though! That's a minor gripe, if at all. Can't wait to see Cu!
Dimihd chapter 19 . 11/21/2023
don't know why, but I wanted to see Avel and Vivian as a couple. Fire and water, patrons of heroes and eternal rivals.
aGnamZer0 chapter 16 . 11/11/2023
« The problem was, it didn't fit Shirou's greater soul anymore, despite still being a part of it. The domain in the gem differed slightly from Eternal Forge, and even if it was technically still a part of the greater whole, it was impossible to properly absorb it back. It was inherently intertwined with the ability to record any weapon, but not the physical counterparts. He wasn't sure what would happen if he tried, but he was afraid it would be nothing good. And he was wary of messing with his soul more than he needed. He had enough problems with it after the recent 'silver' incident. Not to add, he wasn't even sure if he could do anything to absorb it. The simple red gem appeared completely mundane to his senses, it was only thanks to his Fairy Eyes and the fact that it was his soul inside that he deduced that much. »

So, like I thought, that bastard Bivel took a part of Shirou's soul. I hate him!

If Shirou really can't reabsorb this piece of his soul, it'll mean he'd really have been nerfed. It'd mean the "Domain" he currently possess isn't as powerful as it could have been. Honestly, if that happens, I'm pretty sure I'll rage quit. That's the one thing that enraged me from the moment Bivel stole it. I won't be able to accept it if it's doesn't "fit" Shirou anymore.

« The deal is off. You can keep the gem. »

Ah, fuck! Okay, please, tell me right now, will Shirou ever get back this part of his soul? I need to know right now. I think it bled through my reviews that this is something that was tormenting me since the second chapter. And honestly, if he truly refuses to try and getting it back or fails to do so after trying, I know I won't enjoy this story anymore. Not when this is such an essential part of Shirou.

Before, I didn't hate Bivel because I was sure he would eventually give Shirou his soul back, but now? Now I hate him!

Not only would absorbing back this piece of his soul allow him to trace all weapons, but I'm pretty sure it would also finally cut the connection between his "records" and the originals, allowing him to keeo them undamaged even if something happens to the original.

And let's be honest, allowing someone else, anyone really, to keep a fragment of your soul is pure folly. He's practically begging for trouble (with the piece of soul of someone, something much more precious than blood, I'm pretty sure you could bind them to your will, and more).

So yeah, I know it's a spoiler and everything, but I need to know. Please!

I'll await your reply before continuing (I didn't even finish the chapter following that line because I need to know).

I really hope you actually still regularly check your Inbox, because with how FFnet is currently, completely failing to send mail notifications, because otherwise, you may never notice my messages and thus, never answer them.

Thank you for writing and sharing this work with us.
aGnamZer0 chapter 15 . 11/11/2023
Lonan, huh? Isn't the one who led the attack on Scathach when she was a child, stabbed her in the chest and forced Shirou to use his blessing, named Lonan? Lonan Mac Fiachna. I still remember the name (nah, okay, I had to check it back to find the full name). If so, I wonder what Avel will do once he realizes she's the granddaughter of that man.

« the weapon shimmered with gold and turned into a spherical red gem in a brief flare of flames »

Please, tell me it is what I think it is. Tell me it is the part of Shirou that allows him to copy weapons that weren't forged by him.
aGnamZer0 chapter 14 . 11/11/2023
I feel like Avel is both powerful and yet nerfed. The fact the state of his weapons are directly connected to the originals meant they can be lost. If you add that to the fact he can't trace others weapons...

He might have a lot more mana, fairy magic, a powerful fire and a connection Faery, but I feel like if fought EMIYA (he never would have run out of weapons like Avel just did), he would lose nine times out of ten.

And now he fled and completely embraced his Fary side. I hope he won't end up regretting it and that Scathach won't end up hating him.

Thanks for the chapter.
aGnamZer0 chapter 13 . 11/11/2023
I wonder how many heroes will end up using Avel's weapons and transform them into Noble Phantasms.

I wonder if Cador will end up one such hero.

Now at least, Avel can probably understand Vivian's obsession.

Thanks for the chapter.
aGnamZer0 chapter 12 . 11/11/2023
« Lifting his hand, he called on his Domain. It was his soul. It was his Eternal Forge where the flames of his heart resided. A home of his creations. The truth of his very being. »

And yet, it's incomplete. After all, Bivel took something quintessential to your soul, to your magic, a part of your essence, the ability to manifest not only the swords you forged yourself, but all the swords you laid your eyes upon. And I'll never be satisfied as long as you don't get back that.

Even if they're terribly low quality, with the all the wars you witnessed, you should have many more weapons in your Domain.

But I admittedly don't care about those. The weapons I care are those that made legened and that you won't be able to get because Bivel STOLE from you. He called you a thief, yet he STOLE a big part of yourself.

That aside, it was a very interesting chapter. Unfortunately, I'm not an history buff. I saw that you put many hints as to where and when Avel visited, but I don't get the references. I'd be immensely grateful to you if you could write a small timeline of events of the places Avel visited, the date and if you feel like it, the context at the time. I feel it would allow me a better immersion.

Otherwise, I feel lost. Not knowing when exactly he is nor where.

I personally hate FGO (barely managed to finish the first episode), but I like your Yu Mei-ren.

Also liked your Lady of the Lake (if I'm not wrong) and I wonder if Avel is the one who forged Caliburn.

Thanks for the chapter.
aGnamZer0 chapter 11 . 11/11/2023
You know, aside from the fact the seal on Avel's abilities isn't removed, I'm annoyed that after three hundred years, he still didn't manage to recreate the original. I actually wonder if it's not because of that seal, that he wasn't able to finish it in the first place.

I wonder if Avel will ever get to meet Cu Chulainn before the Fifth Grail War or if he'll first meet him there. And since he's the one who made his spear, I wonder if the spear will refuse to hurt him. Would be fun.

I hadn't expected Avel's Reality Marble (or should I call it Inverted Reality, maybe?) is always on. It's awesome since that means he doesn't have to expand mana to summon his swords and it's also instantaneous.

I'm happy things between Avel and Scathach smoothed out, even if their relationship isn't the same anymore.

Thanks for the chapter.
aGnamZer0 chapter 10 . 11/11/2023
Bihev didn't remove the seal? Sorry, that's really the only thing I can think right now. Avel can still only trace his own weapons? Honestly, if that's truly the case, that's a really big turn off for me. Like, I was awaiting the moment Bihev would free Avel and also give him back his ability eagerly from the beginning. I thought he'd say something like "Now that you've managed to reforge Midjinor, no other sword is as great, and so, I'll give you back your power for you would be able to forge them too anyway", or something like that.

I mean, I truly loved the fight with the dragon, especially the fact that Avel's prototype weapon of bones that will probably end up being Cu Chulainn was first used again a dragon and that he finally merged his magecraft and his fairy magic and ended up with something alike yet so different from a Reality Marble.

I enjoyed all of that, obviously. But if he truly lost his ability that made him "The King of Fakers", as titled by Gilgamesh, then I won't be able to appreciate this story as much.

I also didn't like the bit about his records breaking if the original did. One of Avel's greatest advantages is that he could spam his Noble Phantasms without worrying about them breaking. He could just make more. More importantly, the state of the original didn't matter in the least. I mean, most of those Noble Phantasms are long gone to time. If it wasn't because he encountered Noble Spirits coming straight from the Throne of Heroes, he'd never have even be able to lay eyes on those weapons which would have been long gone.

Thanks for the chapter.
aGnamZer0 chapter 9 . 11/11/2023
Woah! Scathach sure is badass! I do wonder how her connection to the Land of Shadow truly work. I hope we'll get more information about that.

I also wonder whether Cu Chulainn was one of those hopeful students that wanted to train under her or she's yet to meet him.

I hope Avel won't make any more promise thoughtlessly like that. I don't want him hurt. I don't want him to become a shell of himself like EMIYA was.

Thanks for the chapter.
aGnamZer0 chapter 8 . 11/11/2023
Maybe the determination to finally be able to be free and be with those he loves will be the necessary trigger allowing him to forge Midjinior.

He said "ten years at worst", not "ten years minimum". Meaning, he will try to finish forging that damn sword in that timespan.

Didn't expect Aife to be a magus. We all know Scathath will survive, but I wonder how exactly she'll manage this feat. She's clearly disadvantaged.

I wonder too, when Magecraft will become a stuff of legends and when the Moonlit World will separate itself from the mundane world.

Thanks for the chapter.
aGnamZer0 chapter 7 . 11/11/2023
« … you are not wrong. Those are copies of my works, recreated with magecraft, but still weapons I forged with my own hands. »

Which never fails to anger me. While I'm glad Avel can forge weapons of that quality, those aren't Noble Phantasms which have made history.

I hope Scathach's anger and hate will not cloud her judgement and make her an avenger set on killing those who betrayed her parents. Otherwise, she will no doubt live a life filled with loss and regret.

I wonder how those Gateways work. Like, can anyone use them, or only Fairies?

Thanks for the chapter.
aGnamZer0 chapter 6 . 11/11/2023
You truly know a lot about mythology and history. I myself am pretty ignorant in both of those, and I certainly know next to nothing about Scottish history. So I'd like to ask, in what era did Avel land in? Who was the King that dies from a 'plague'?

I hope Avel's blessing won't cause him any complications. I'm already frustrated by the seal on his abilities enforced by Bivel, if he's nerfed even further, I will explocde!

On that note, I noticed that Avel's magecraft, basically the iron side of his abilities is weaker than his faery side, the fire side of his abilities. It's not so much that his magecraft is weak and more that he never had the opportunity to feel his Reality Marble with Noble Phantasms filled with history. That's quite frustrating. Damn seal!

Now we know how Scatach became immortal. Avel, the Fairy of Fire and Iron.

Thanks for the chapter.
