Reviews for The Core Wars |

![]() ![]() Yes! I have long thought, as I read fanfic, that the dragon reserves must be in fact ranches rather than endangered species sanctuaries which I feel is what is implied by ‘reserve’ in canon. Because- too much mention of dragon-hide boots and armour! What I’d like to know is how sentient are your dragons? |
![]() ![]() ![]() I got som'att ter say ter ya about butchered inglish, I do. Me dad, he could und'rstan me just fine, don't kno what yer yappin' on about. Now I can't listen to a word that french lassie spoke. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Just great. A street smart and gritty suvivor make a terrific Harry and an even better story. Here he’s hanging ten through HUGE waves. He doesn’t always win but always gets up again. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Cuffe’s lament about the past showed a superficial interaction with his world. He had no idea how and why the society had changed |
![]() ![]() ![]() I adore the focus on cotes and wood. The pencil wands might hit hard |
![]() ![]() ![]() Love your stories and this is a great twist on Unintended Consequences. Hermione is obnoxious and self righteous at points in this that drives me crazy but is honestly so true to how her canon character would be in this situation! Preference the academics for wands, refuse to recognize business or financial realities….Unintended Consequences Hermione seemed a lot more mature. I am a huge Harmony fan but in this one I want to tell Harry to run for it! Thanks for the great stories and all the hard work that goes into them! |
![]() ![]() Third read through - probably last me for a while. A bit 'darker' than 'Unintended Consequences', indeed. three points: *Where did the wands referred to by one of the Weres in an early chapter come from? They're planning a raid and one says, "... we have a few wands ..." - but I don't think the Wand Shop has even opened at the time. *ABC...XYZ opens his eyes in his portrait and say, "Minister Scrimgeour ...". How does he know Rufus has replaced Fudge? ** 'Brits' is seen as (at best) mildly offensive by many British people. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Having previously read your other Great Wandout story, so far, I think this one is better laid out. The other story was a bit here, there and everywhere, whereas this one is clearly laid out month by month post-incident. However, I really did enjoy the other story, and I am looking forward to finding several more similarities and differences between the two. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You mentioned corn as one of the stuff to grow on the fields in Cornwall. If by corn you mean wheat or rye the question is why is it not already in the ground and nearly ripe? Here in North Germany winter wheat and winter rye do very well, and Cornwall has an even more oceanic climate. If on the other hand you are thinking maize, note that in Europe maize is only food in the mediterran, but animal fodder in the UK, Germany etc. |
![]() ![]() ![]() here in Germany the we don't need thieves heads on a pike, but the heads of at least one former minister of transport, and then at least two estate entrepreneurs each for Stuttgart main station and for Hamburg Altona. For the later category I would prefer keeping them alive but impaled in front or on top of the affected Railway station. |
![]() ![]() ![]() yes, Harry is selling wands to fast. But he has an 8 million loan to pay back, and any month he does not have to pay interest helps. Thank you for this story and unintended consequences |
![]() ![]() ![]() I read the two wandout stories back to back and I'm not even a little bit tired of the premise. I enjoyed this iteration just as much as I did the first one. I like that there was a lot of uncertainty with regards to the cores and even when they have established supply, there is the threat of it going away. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I appreciate the reminder of renewing my account settings. I know I have lost track of many stories that I was really enjoying due to not keeping up on that. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thank you for sharing your great talent. Although this tail was similar, it stood on its own merits. I feel that the time I spent reading this story was enjoyable thank you and have a great day. |
