I'm sorry you had to read such an inflammatory comment, but unfortunately some people are just like that. I don't really understand taking offense to a writer using period appropriate dialogue. I was a preteen and teenager in the 90s and can confirm that the dreaded "R" word was a commonly used epithet back then. I don't have to like it, but it was a thing and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.

Of course, I am firmly against the expurgation of books to "edit out" the offensive bits, so I may be a tad biased. Censorship doesn't mean something didn't happen. Equally, leaving in the offensive bits doesn't mean that the author personally subscribes to or wishes to promote those words, beliefs, etc., that people are pitching tantrums about. However, I have noticed a growing lack of understanding regarding this point, and I don't know whether I find the genuine or the wilful ignorance to be more disheartening.

Meanwhile, I enjoy your writing and only wish that you had the time/desire to flesh out your fan stories a bit more. I understand why you do not, but I still wish.

Even if you ignore everything else (and that's a lot to ignore), Malfoy gave a kid a cursed diary that ended up releasing a basilisk in the school. I'm not a fan of the Weasley family, but this is just stupid.

pros: some enjoyable fantasty to this story of 'What if Harry was very smart, very rich, and everything just worked out for him?'
cons: Hermione is portrayed as annoying. things work out too perfectly. i really dislike the fAmily magic part, it sounds like an excuse to be n the side of death eaters. that makes no sense.
finally, there is use of the R word as slur in the 1st chapter. while this WAS typical for the time, so was homophobia. it doesn't mean it was necessary for story

I prefer robes in chartreuse with lavender flamingos and animated mint-green dancing reindeer. And I fervently try to NOT imagine those robes, or I fear my eyes would burst in flames just by thinking of a combination like that.
