Helps that no one else knows enough to say whether he did anything to it before handing it over... To ensure it breaks every few years and earns him a nice payment each time to 'fix' it.

Most Magicals will become more paranoid/aware of Time Magic being used to reveal their past/present/future crimes and seek ways to counter it.

Something only Harry and select others can do and even then may be limited to current/future crimes with certain artifacts, like sell 'inferior' methods that work for a short time, only cover crimes done wearing them or offer to 'blur' past crimes in return for an appropriate payment.

Is it that you wanted him to be involved with the Ministry for whatever story or plot reason, or was there a reason he just didn't use the Chronoscope to find lost treasure including gold, jewels, art, magical knowledge or basically anything? Even with the cost of operating it, you'd think one good Spanish treasure ship for example would pay for everything?

I'm not saying it couldn't make sense for a number of reasons for him to sell to the Ministry. I'm just curious why he wouldn't use it for some simple looting of lost treasure or knowledge when it seems like the first thing anyone would do with a working Chronscope because it seems to easy and so obvious.

Good chapter still enjoyable. Hopefully Harry isn’t going to be friendly with Remus Lupin. I don’t really consider Remus part of the inner group. He was friends with James, but he was like a secondary friend. Whenever people talked about the group they always said it was Black and Potter and they’re two hanger ons.

I just think of him kind of like what I think of the Weasley‘s they’re just suspicious and creepy and weird. I wish the Weasley’s were outed for having the rat. I think they should be ridiculed for being a wizarding family but to moronic to realise that the rat they allowed to sleep in their child’s bed was actually a man. Also, it’s disgusting that their child has a pet rat. Rats piss everywhere they go it helps him navigate, leaving their urine behind when they walk.

Rather than one price to purchase the Chronscope, it would have been smarter to negotiate a per use licensing fee, maybe 5k galleons a usage. A government is not going to hold themselves back from using it and in short order they would have greatly exceeded the 100k purchase price. Doom may be a genius but when it comes to money matters he's still just an inexperienced kid.

as for the chronoscope... the death eaters would never allow such a thing, hell i wouldnt unless i can shield against it. try to steal my magic will you. so im having a hard time not seeing malfoy just destroy it at all cost. not that it matters as fudge will never let bones prosecute anyone he doesnt want to
