Guest chapter 1 . 9/4 A shame that those papers burned up in Dumbledore's desk. Probably would have been really helpful if they, or copies of them, happened to make it to Gringotts. The attempt to seal the Wills displayed right next to the copy of said Wills... It'd look even worse. |
Pillager61 chapter 3 . 9/4 I really like the blend of school, personal and action. |
Books85 chapter 24 . 9/1 Well, I don't see another chapter after this one... I will have to go back to your author page to see if 83 Billion is listed there. Maybe also look at Apprentice Tom's page. What I take form this story is that one or two people (talented and powerful and lucky people, granted) can use their talent, imagination and hard work to change a corner of their world. Yes, Hermione have magic, but they couldn't do what they did without the imagination, innovation and hard work. Thank you. |
Books85 chapter 21 . 9/1 "Dobby and Ed appeared wearing carpenter bib overalls and yellow hard hats..." OMG, you have turned house elves into Minions (tm)! Why did I not see this before? I am so relieved to read that Harry and his minions were wearing goggles and masks while repairing and cleaning the facility that makes the cobalt rods! Cobalt oxide is toxic. Thank you for this story. There is always so much thought put into your stories, it makes them more enjoyable. |
Books85 chapter 15 . 9/1 Hi, Hannah's person! This is Jo's person. I have been enjoying the idea of Dobby and Ed in their black fedoras doing trades all over the world for sand. Actually, I wish they were working in the Real World ad some of the communities in my area would have really used sand to renourish the beaches after the last hurricane. Alas, it's the cost of transport, not the cost of the sand that makes the cost high. Thanks again! |
Books85 chapter 12 . 9/1 I agree with you about those big grasshoppers. (Around Salt Lake City they call them locusts - go figure!) As a youngster I lived in north Texas and ran into (using bicycles) some of them. Gross! I don't exactly recall reading this story before, but the making lakes, moving water and transfiguring sea water into fresh water were somewhat similar to others that old-crow or Apprentice Tom wrote. Have you reused the concept or is my brain actually on the blink? I recalled the concept clearly because it is as practical a use for HP style magic as any that I have read. Thank you! Books85 |
JerryofNM chapter 1 . 8/30 Who gets the jerky treats, Barchoke or RobSt? I bet that goblins would really enjoy jerky. |
PerkinFlump chapter 24 . 8/29 Great. Should be tagged as complete |
G Fawkes chapter 24 . 8/16 That was a different ending than I (barely) remembered. Didn't Harry get a group together and vanish all the trash and junk blocking up the sewers, somewhere? NYC? London? Anyway. Cool. Great, even the 2nd time. Love it! Thanks! PS... I'm sore and tired from my new, longest ever ride, Wednesday. 80 miles total. (what a wussy, right?!) I rode out to an Amish apple farm that has deli stuff, produce, and DONUTS!. Got some trail bologna and smoky hot pepper cheese, and a couple donuts for the fam. Stuffed my saddlebags and rode home. Thought I would save some time, and jumped on the expressway for a five mile shortcut. Ended up behind a semi truck full of tiny gravel on the last bit of highway. It was like riding INTO a sandblaster! Had to back off and get far enough behind that the rocks didnt hurt. Didn't even look at the bike, after. Its a 2003. |
G Fawkes chapter 20 . 8/14 I googled Sam Kinison and found his World Hunger plan. Awesome! |
G Fawkes chapter 13 . 8/13 In the 80's, I was running a retail plumbing, electrical, and heating store, part of a (relatively) small lumber chain anyone in the near Midwest would know (300 stores, 10 States?). One of our worst sellers was an under sink reverse osmosis system that purified drinking water. Speed and volume were the problem. It slammed gallons of (wasted) water up against some infinitesimally small membrane, and what came out the other side was clean. I HOPE that technology either got better, or was scrapped. DKDC. |
G Fawkes chapter 12 . 8/13 I got a practical question. They're in a 100 foot deep GRANITE hole with 12 other people. Guys and girls, both. And McG is nearly 80 yrs. old. Where do they pee? I . Hey, I'm nearly 60. This IS a concern to some of us! |
G Fawkes chapter 11 . 8/13 Little plug for Bell helmets, there. Nothing to do with Katie, I'm sure. They're good helmets, and I'm not in that Arai $600 or $1000 demographic. Coincidentally, I can't seem to find a Bell SRT modular helmet in 2xl and matte black. They used to be on Amazon and I didn't get one. Now everyone only has small, or are out. I have a ridiculously large head. Part of my only having taken hour long rides has been my too small helmet hurts so bad after an hour, I can't stand having it on. I bought a "Sons of Anarchy" half helmet also, and it hurts in the exact same spot! _ Hal Moore? I'm still wondering about Sam Kinneson! And this is my second time through! |
G Fawkes chapter 4 . 8/12 Passivity, while theoretically admirable, is a good way to become a footnote in history... As the party that got wiped out by the victors, who write the history books. |
G Fawkes chapter 3 . 8/12 Yeah. Ok. All the archery stuff is coming back to me, now. Seem to remember a cemetery battle coming up. Cool. Never had a problem rereading an Old Crow fic. Won't start now. But still... my memory is crap! |
