Could you for Naruto, have him get his hands on a Bingo book and find out about Explosion release users like Deidara and try to incorporate more seamless explosive techniques (Such as the Exploding Shadow Clone Justu that Itachi uses) and have Jiraiya tell Naruto about the Ame orphans he trained, specifically Konan, and try to use or replicate what Konan did just with tons of explosive notes? It would make him have more variety and avenues of attack, whilst also giving him an actual improvement compared to the Canon results of the training trip.

just because you study a lot does not make you super smart it just makes you well learned. you should continue this it seems interesting

Looks interesting. If Naruto is essentially the same as the canon story, but better (no spectacular kekkei genkai) it makes sense not to make him as smart as Sakura or Shikamaru. But since now he knows the secret you can make him good enough to know the answers of chunin exams and much more. Not so much for intelligence per se, but because unlike others he can train and study and do much more that others cannot and obtain information. I know you want to limit Naruto with only chackra control exercises and clone theory, but it's wrong because you can do much better for this Naruto. The fact that there is both Hinata and Ino paired with Naruto really intrigued me for this story.

I can agree that a super intelligent Naruto can be scene as boring, I like to see a Naruto that is average to above average intelligence, but that is more for street smarts and subjects that I feel Naruto would be interested in(Traps, Stealth, Basic Chemistry (For making stuff to prank people with, not higher end stuff). Could you also have this Naruto actually learn seals not as just because he's an Uzumaki, but because of what he could do to prank people or other useful stuff, or just because he wants to go trigger happy with Explosive notes. Overall a good start to an interesting Naruto.

honestly a great first chapter. can't wait to read more! I can agree a super smart naruto is kind of meh always thought of him like Goku in a way. A training maniac and battle smart. After all why bother with efficiency when you can make more clones!
