Finally got around to reading this. Great starting point, Raymond has a lot of personality and thats always good—a flat OC is just boring. Chikorita is one of the starters you don’t see often and having her be from an introduced population is cool, also the dinosaur-esque description for the meganium was great. The interregional collaberation Birch discussed was a great detail too, and the poor man discovered every husband’s bane—a shopping spree. Overall great read, looking forward to more.

I very much enjoyed this chapter as an intro, had a lot of fun spins on the standard journeyfic starting chapter to draw in interest. Chikorita is a starter not often seen in fics, and I do really like the choice to have her be from an introduced population in Hoenn. The sheer scale of the Meganium was another detail I really enjoyed, staying more true to the dinosaur roots. I am very interested to see more whenever you next update.
