Was the mention of Raven being assaulted really needed, it feels more like cheap shock value and ultimately feels very unneeded, Balmung is dead as a doornail and we all hated him already, this just feels very out of place.

First time there refers to first time killing somebody. You know, the whole context of the conversation? What the heck are you reading into that passage? Whatever it is, it isn’t there; Balmung “unwillingly” took Raven’s first time killing somebody because she was forced to murder him. That’s… Just what the text says. Are you serious?

Ok seriously when is Nessa gonna get over it? If his actual partner got over it then she should too. At this point she’s just bitter that he didn’t want to make her a priority when she got hurt. She’s treating her moment of embarrassment as if it’s his fault for not wanting to be on a team of strangers over his literal friends.

Didn’t need to add Raven being assaulted in a previous timeline when it literally adds nothing to the story. I already despise it being included in stories but hate it even more when its used for no reason. The dude’s dead, not in the story anymore and won’t be coming back, that’s it. No need to add something that didn’t happen into a story for shock value.

The story’s been really good these previous chapters but that seriously gets on my nerves.

Yeah Qrow Saving his sister from getting R ped By the Bandit leader in this New Timeline Definitely changed a lot and most likely got rid of so much trauma.

This story is still treating them like they are in signal. It seems to think the characters are younger then the are

Enjoyed the chapter as always; no criticisms here, but I just can’t help the humor to be found in that phrase, “I'd rather die in the field than become one of your pet teachers.” She says that, and while I know you’ve got your plans set up, I can’t help the feeling that the latter is gonna happen regardless and picturing her reaction when she realizes that is priceless.

Alas, no drunken hotel room trysts. Might have been easier than trekking through Grimm-infested forest on crutches.

More bonding with the old lady, including backstory admissions. The old tribe leader raping Raven in the original timeline... that's new.

Qrow continues to fumble around bonding with his teammates.

And Oz talks about plans for the future with Maria.

I still really think the whole ‘Qrow being upset about the team arrangements’ being this huge wound on everyone is overblown. He was mad for A DAY.

NGL, I was not a fan of the casual mention of Raven being SAed by Balmung in the other timeline. Or of the way it was conveyed as being her 'first time' rather than as an assault. Or the off hand mention of her being an older teenager at the time as opposed to a younger teenager, as if that makes everything better.

Just... did we really need this flavor text? We already knew the Tribe was terrible. Qrow did not even tell this little factoid to Maria. Her reaction at least might have been interesting.

Basically, this little bit made the whole chapter feel icky.

Qrow’s problem really is more of a matter of not being honest with others. He doesn’t need to learn how to talk to others, just learn how to be upfront about who he is. In his old line of work it was important to always keep things hidden, play like everything was fine when a shadow war was happening in the background. That kept a wall between him and others. The war may still be there, but he doesn’t have the friendship foundation built like in his previous life.

This Qrow doesn’t need to fit in, he only needs to be honest about him not getting people and what he wants and what he can and can’t get behind. He’s a werido, but there are those who will love him just as he is as long as he’s willing to own being the werido…and he can start by telling his new team about his early life. I’m looking forward to how this grows. Excellent work as always! Can’t wait for more!

Honestly my favorite relationship in this story is the Gretchen Qrow Friend/partnership. I love me some ribbing and banter.
