Assuming Remnant’s airspace laws work like IRL territorial waters, and (student) huntress aren’t flat out above the law, Winter is completely correct. The moment they entered the airship Atlesian laws were in effect. Jacques might bail his daughter out with a dump truck full of money to protect the Schnee name (assuming he doesn’t disown her), but for attacking Atlesian soldiers on sovereign Atlesian territory Blake and Yang pretty much have to be thrown under the bus, while Ruby and Weiss get off with lighter sentences. Maybe what happens next will justify it, but at this point I think the girls ought to face serious consequences. As you lampshade in this chapter knocking someone out isn’t a small feat and requires quite a bit of force.
