Beautifully written! I like the setting with Elendil meeting his many-times-great-uncle, and I like the way you portray Elrond's interest in history and ancient lore and his concern for his brother's descendants. I also commend you for your proficient use of sindarin and quenya.

How could this story have passed along so long without any reviews! O_o . . .
Well, let's rectify that. This fic is lovely. I love the way you use the Quenyan and Sindarin words with such skill and integrate it into the main point of your fic. It shows a firm grasp of both languages. A well-written, gentle clash of cultures occurs here, and it's very interesting! I imagine Elendil and Elrond would have done something much like this if they met. Your setting is realistic and I liked the way you characerized Elendil and Elrond - Elendil especially, actually. And I enjoyed Elrond's scholarly interest in Elendil's history and lifestyle and words. (And it must have been a little strange for Elendil to realize that he was talking to his many-times-great-granduncle!)
All in all, this is a lovely tribute to an era that is severely underwritten. More power to the Second Age! Yay! :)
