Reviews for Certain feelings
Vein Creature chapter 1 . 11/16/2008
Gah! I died a little bit.

It was lovely, but still so sad.
alafolie chapter 1 . 8/2/2007
I'm a bit of a romantic myself and I wanted some more romance also. It would have been nice to see them together in a sterotypical fiary tale ending, but this is Quills, so I couldn't quite wish for that. But I loved reading this. It was a sweeter version. :)
look at the stars chapter 1 . 1/21/2007
good job, i always thought he should run after her.
Koren chapter 1 . 3/24/2006
o jeez. . . that made me want to cry. it was better than the actual scene. there is no way they could have ended up together but this gave some satisfaction. bravo.
Princess Persephone chapter 1 . 9/6/2005
That's so sad! But I'm glad they got a kiss...:)
Jackie chapter 1 . 7/28/2004
I super liked this a bunch. Best Quills fic i've read so far.

BUT. that last paragraph was way to sappy/clche and kinds ruined the whole feeling up to that point. For me at lest.

A work anyhow.
pantspie chapter 1 . 7/22/2004
You should have changed the whole ending and made me a happy chipmunk... i cried for hours after that movie... but this was a really beautiful fic and even though she still dies the fact that they know they love each other kinda takes the angst away which is good because that movie was angsted up the wazoo... beautiful
M.LeCroix chapter 1 . 1/26/2004
First off, I have to commend you on the grammatical aspect of your piece. All too often, I find that I can't take a story seriously if the writing is sloppily thrown together. Bravo.
On the other hand, while you have the technical aspect of writing down, the emotional part needs a bit of work. To be blunt, the best dialogue in this fanfic was what was taken directly from the movie. Somehow, I doubt phrases like: "Okay" and "Oh God, I'm gonna cry again!" were used in the 1700's. All in all, I felt like I was watching one of those teen love stories; not the tearing, angst-filled, "never-after" romance of the Abby and Madeline.
All in all, it was good, but not quite dramatic enough for my tastes. Keep writing though, I expect great things from you.
jessielou chapter 1 . 12/2/2003
I really enjoyed quills and like you I wished for a bit more romance that was a really good story. And unlike some you didn't take it to far. It was really believable!
nicollete crescente chapter 1 . 10/21/2003
This story was very nicely written and I must agree, Quills (as wonderful as it was) did need a bit more romance! I love this little extra scene you placed in the movie and I will try to remember the film like this always! Great job!
Storys Crap chapter 1 . 8/15/2003
ha ha
cheeky laundress chapter 1 . 8/5/2003
"My heart told me to go after you."

But my mind won't let me stay with you…

that was a nice depiction of the abbe, his heart open but his thoughts shut away (indicated by the way you alternate the lines between dialogue and internal monologue).

I thought it was intersting how the abbe reflected on his guilt about her death in terms of not having said he loved her- do you think he considers that would have made her fate any different?

hm, interesting...
Golden Goddess3 chapter 1 . 7/23/2003
"...and they were becoming pretty wet."

LOL, my dirty mind interpreted this very differently than your intention. I wasn't sure if this was turning into soft porn or what...

Anyway, I would like to commend you for your fine piece of writing. Nice job in the grammatical sense, also. It has luke-warm emotions, but has great potential to turn that into fiery emotions with a tad bit of tweaking. I would continue to work on this, it shows so much promise.

My suggestions...Well I didn't understand why you had Madeleine die anyway. I mean she got her moment she had been waiting for. Wasn't her reason for going to the Marqui that she was leaving in the first place? So perhaps with the ending, you could add in a bit about how she lived on, admiring him from afar and eventually dying an old maid. I mean he's the love of her life, right?

Overall, I'd like to tell you what a wonderful job you've done. I hope you keep contributing great fanfiction like this to the website.
