Satin: Oh, he's stupid. Well, not stupid might not be the best word, maybe naive? He's really naive. He definitely feels a lot younger than 15. I thought he was 12 until I looked at the blog again! To be honest he is surprisingly chill about being in a literal prison; I thought he would panic a bit. I wonder if the "so what" attitude will continue when he gets reaped? Oh well, Satin has practically all the attributes to set him up for failure: naive, arrogant and ambitious. I don't see him making many new friends, at least the ones who won't manipulate him.

Lavish: It feels like he is so spoiled it loops around and he becomes non-spoiled xd. I did kind of laugh when he felt lonely, but he wasn't interested in Odette because she was too much of a peasant for him. I liked the quote "He was raised to want everything, it's no wonder he came to the decision to want it now" - it summarized him quite well. He already has everything, but because it was only because of his father, so he wants to get what not even his father can get him. Bit of what I mentioned earlier, with how his spoilishness loops around. I like him a lot, mainly because I can't tell where he will end up. I can see a lot of different arcs, which makes me excited.

Charlie: Pretty normal guy tbh. I was kinda expected him to be part of some big smuggling network but he's just a petty thief smh. I do feel like he balances the childishness and street smartness pretty well, well, at least compared to one other tribute in this chapter. Charlie does feel a lot more smarter than Satin despite them both being somewhat similar. Also Chandler Witt reference. !.

When Cordy started talking about Dove finding an ally to manipulate, my first thought was Malus. Oh, Sev and Dove are gonna be fighting over my son, aren’t they?

Oooh, is this the beginning of an alliance between the Eights? There seem to be a lot of potential alliances along district lines so far, which… really bodes well for the Sevens LOL.

Lavish’ relationship with his parents is actually really sad. Like, that part about his mother leaving hit hard.

Leda is not even in this chapter but I must still make it known that I Stan them.

I love how I hate both the Ones because they are both very mean but I also feel deeply sad for them both.

My life update: My mum told me that, while I was at uni, two of my friends went to see an artist she called ‘Charlie XX’. She claims she mixed up Charli XCX and Jamie XX.

Corvina: Look, I did feel there was a fair amount of telling in this part. Jasper is also really honest and self-aware of that addiction, which is, like, go you, but it was both befuddling and confronting. A splash of haunting, too.

Claris: Go Claris! Tell him where to go!

Hudson: In jail for funny things? Is this a Satin reference? I love that guy! I mean, I love making fun of that guy! Jokes aside, this was a very sweet scene.

Malus: Malus, I dub thee Bugs. After Bugs Bunny, of course. That is all.

Sabine: Wow, that is how to write a compelling backstory! Made me feel for Sabine, the culture of Four has certainly claimed her. It will be so wicked to watch the pack interact! You really have a knack for conveying a sense of loss, if that makes any sense. Seen it in a few introductions, it hits true.

Song-yi: Min-yi? More like moron, right? Harsh, but I seriously feel for Song-yi. Not that it changed much for her in the end, being reaped kind of has that effect. This is a blanket statement, but this cast will be so interesting to watch for a time, Song-yi especially. Her backstory is another good story within a story, if that makes any sense. Really felt like I got a feel for her how her life was pre-arrest, how much she enjoyed herself.

Tyrian: Tyrian, I think, had a strong introduction. I like him more than I typically like his demographic, his demographic being head-up-their-ass Twos. Self-aware? Yes. Self-effacing? No. Self-serving? I think so, to the point where I think Tyrian could really be the commander of the pack. To me, the other main standout is Odette.

Balor: What a lovely tie-in from Tyrian to Balor, great job, Linds! Thoroughly enjoyed that one. So, Balor is hurting, but do I think they stand a chance? Not really. I have a feeling their heart will really struggle the six months. Glad they got their retribution, at least.

Ahhh whoops, seems I've fallen behind quite a lot. I wanna blame my exams but it is really no excuse. Well, it's better late than never at least.

Gir: Honestly, I expected her to be more... tough? At least from the blog, Girmyr is quite a scary name. I have a bit hard time nailing her down, but her motivation is quite interesting. Having to atone for your parents rebellion is not something I would have expected. Feels like she is really unsure about it though, it feels like she has a high chance of breaking down once we get to the games. Or earlier, considering we have six months of pre-games. Also, can we talk about Atonement day? What the fuck? At first I thought "oh this is some cute world building of District 2 culture" but then the prisoners were introduced. At least the Aztecs only sacrificed humans because they thought the sun would stop spinning if they didn't. I cannot stop visualizing the scene like the Sardukar planet in Dune xd. Does fit the vibe of District 2 though.

Atlas: I think District 13 being underground is interesting. I've always imagined it only becoming an underground so the rebels could hide after the war, but considering it is made of petty criminals in this verse maybe the overground is unhabitable? Also how bad is Twelve xd if they are afraid of being exiled there. Atlas seemed pretty serious, well, serious maybe would be a bad term, calm would work instead? It contrasts well with their other two chaotic friends. It did have a bit of hard time making out who was speaking though; their voices tended to melt together. Although Atlas was a lot more distict and that's what matters anyway. Their relationship with their family was quite relatable. Overall, chill guy.

Adina: She is somehow the most confident and insecure character I have read in a short while. Truly a combination for the ages. What struck me with her was how... detached everything is? What I mean is the world that she has created seem to really only exist within her own mind. She is clearly an adrenaline junkie and the only real reason why she fools around with girls is that so they can be impressed with her. The expectations that comes with her family name that I expect would pressure her somehow institutionalised into facts for her. Because her family was loved, she simply assumes she is loved. Because her family is good at everything, she assumes she is good at everything. Because her dad is immortal, she doesn't change her house because he will eventually get back. Because her family is immortal, she expects to win the games. Below this world lies the threat of the reality if she lets the facade down, that her dad is dead, constantly bubbling and somehow fuels her delusions ever further. Probably the most interesting tribute of these three!

I've already read Millicent's intro (couldn't help it xd) and I'm really satisfied! Hopefully I will review that chapter tomorrow, so I can catch up a bit.

Perry: the fact that her sister is alive came as a surprise; kinda adds on the tragedy. Guess it would have made little sense to have her in the goodbye section without having anyone to visit her. Though such a goodbye chapter would have been sad and intriguing in its own right.

Atlas: This POV really had a lot of that fear and despair before the games and trying to cope with it and not give up. Really pulling on the heartstrings.

Corvina: Kinda continue with the same beats as Atlas, this one really felt gut wrenchingly sad, but that nap at the end left off with a brighter beat.

Claris: Such a volatile and hostile parental encounter really surprirsed me, but given how many tributes have bad parents, I guess someone had to have farewells like this.

Hudson: She kinda had my favorite segment, but that might just be because Soran was mentioned. No one else really mentioned their district partner, which was a nice tie in that elevated this POV, alongside her very damn sweet goodbyes with her friends. Lol, Soran is considered boring, which is probably a fair impression. Now I am really interested if anything will come out of Hudson's promise to turn Soran dope.

Malus: This chapter kinda clarifies what kind of character Malus is, making sure that we know that while he is peculiar, he is not stupid. Bud damn is he peculiar.

First off this blog is SO hot I seriously don't know how you do it. I love the kind of reality tv/cyber themes they're so fun and all the tribute info has also been so fun to read through so let's get to it!

Odette: She's the queen of District One and we can already see it. The over-proud Career who's too competitive for her own good oh it's a story as old as time and I'm sure you're going to tell it brilliantly. Weapon of choice is so not a usual Career weapon so that's gonna be fun to see...I've never seen anybody in a SYOT just get a bunch of kills with a bow and arrow sooo.

Lavish: Okok seems like a middle class boy who has no idea how the true world works because he's trapped in his rich kid bubble. Love that he's impressionable and super happy though, I feel like he might piss off some people so that's gonna be funny. Fatal flaw obsession? Ooooh maybe obsession with the Games? With winning? Or maybe some other secret things in his backstory.

Grimyr: As soon as I looked at her faceclaim I was like dog girl and then I saw here title, fatal flaw and quote LOL she really IS dog girl. I really love her so far, the energetic golden retriever vibes but also the I'll bite you if you get too close like ooooooh. I think her and Lavish could get along or hate each other lololol.

Tyrian: Hot faceclaim and he's courteous too omg...what a gentleman. It seems like he's aiming to be leader of the pack and, looking at his fatal flaw, I don't think he's going to give that up very easily. Honestly all these careers are gonna be so dramatic I'm so excited... He does seem to be that self centred Career who all the other careers are going to hate but maybe he'll grow on them (or they'll hate him more) since they're spending so much time together..

Leda: First thing I see is a staff? Omg that's so fun I can't wait to watch them hit a bunch of people. They're giving me very much mysterious like 'nobody knows the real me' vibes. Like tell me why Leda is always hiding in the shadows. But they're also confident and unyielding so I'm feeling like they're going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Claris: THE STEADFAST SUNRAY oh I love her. Altruism is her fatal flaw omg of course it is she's just too kind for this cruel world... I think she's going to definitely do well in the social aspect of the 6 months in training. Maybe she can just get everyone to love her and not want to kill her yes yes that might work.

Sabine: Omg the way she's looking at me. It looks like we have another golden retriever girl omg they need to compete for best golden retriever. She's childish and dramatic oh loooord she's gonna annoy some people and it's gonna be very very funny. IT'S ICE TO MEET YOU. She's too real.

Adina: Hot faceclaim wtffff. A BLADED WHIP IS WILD I'm scared to see what she does if she gets her hands on one of those bc WHAT. I feel like maybe she's going to be the most skilled of the Careers but in a more subtle way than the others which can definitely be a good thing.

Balor: He seems so interesting like it’s giving goth and he couldn’t gaf about what’s going on the world which is kinda real. Apathy oh girl…and he’s formidable, he might be one to watch out for in the Games for sure. I can see them causing some chaos in the pre-Games too.

Andromeda: FACECLAIM IS BADASS. Weapon of choice SECRETS? Insane. I want to meet them now. Omg their strengths and weaknesses just scream force to be reckoned with and I’m so here for it. But also I’m scared of them. Pls leave Bex alone Andromeda.

Soran: Love the quote, I want to see him do a lot of bullshitting please. He’s giving that he likes being the center of attention but he’s also got some craziness in him. I’m curious about the greed, I wonder how that’s going to ensue.

Hudson: Ok the other baby of the cast and I adore her. Daredevil? Yes. Queen. She’s giving very much constantly on the go and the type who never stops talking. I feel like she’s gonna piss some people off but also Bex loves adventure too sooo maybe they can go on one together.

Malus: Gentleman? Ahh my god he just seems so sweet. Gullible too omg istg if someone is two faced with him and betrays him I’ll cry. Weapon of choice hands? Maybe he just doesn’t want a weapon bc he doesn’t believe in violence or he’s just really great at punching people.

Seventh: What a curious name, I love curious names. He’s also very much wanting to be the center of attention and I’m here for the flamboyant fabulist. Throwing axes? Insane, that’s gonna be scary asf. He’s also deceptive so like don’t be deceptive with Malus pls..

Corvina: Oh the picture you used is a SERVE. Weapon of choice claws omg I’m screaming WHAT. I need to see this in action. She’s a bit bratty but that’s ok I still love her and I’m so curious about her being a recluse.

Doverina: Hostage omg… She also has the deceptive stuff going for her although it’s more sneaky deceptive and like hiding in the shadows which I’m here for… She’s also giving ‘never really had any real friends’ or anyone to open up to so I hope she finds friends!

Shiloh: He seems fun! Giving very much in the shadows vibes with being observant and aloof. Just a lil introvert trying to navigate life. Echoism is such an interesting fatal flaw and I’m so curious about what made him this way. His backstory is probably sad nooo.

Asphodel: Ooooh. I think he and Shiloh are gonna get along very well. He’s definitely giving the chill vibes which I love and I’m looking forward to how the Games potentially change that. Obliviousness is a fun fatal flaw - I’m curious about whether it’s willful (which his quote implies) or not.

Song-yi: Ughhhh her faceclaim is so goddamn cool I love it. A baseball bat as a weapon of choice is so real? Like I’m so excited about that please please give her a bat. She definitely seems scary but I’m wondering if spending a long time with a bunch of people will show a soft interior.

Millicent: WELL. Something tells me Song-yi and Millicent might clash, both seemingly anti-social and a little bit out there. Millicent’s quote is so funny I love that. Cunning will be fun, maybe she’ll make some chaos…

Charlie: He's very much a golden retriever and I’m here for that. His quote is very cute and I think he’s the banter type so maybe he’ll get along with Bex in that respect. Impulsive? Yeah that checks the boxes, thinking he’s gonna be a bit rebellious and bend the rules.

Perry: DOLEFUL DREAMER….noooo I love her. Her fatal flaw being lovesick hurts me so bad. She just seems like a very kind person…I want to be friends with her. And her quote? AHHHH nobody hurt her please please please. Gardening shears, I’m crying. I’d love to see Perry go crazy with some gardening shears.

Jalen: Jalen is also giving very sweet vibes. I’m thinking he’s a family man, maybe has a few siblings that he has to look after. I’m hoping the Games don’t break him because he seems so gentle and I looove that.

Satin: Okay these two are DEFINITELY GOING TO CLASH wtf. His quote is so funny, maybe he and Bex can have a little banter too. I’m thinking maybe an enemies to lovers for Jalen and Satin so you should definitely do that I would like that a lot!

Bex: I luv u queen.

Atlas: HONORABLE? So that means you’re going to look after Bex, right…right? The fretful fashionista omg Bex is soooooo going to make fun of him for that. Impatient oh no. I’m thinking maybe he and Bex will serve an older brother little sister duo and I’m here for that T B H.

It’s so SAD that the Quell twist meant that Perry had an extra reaping and that’s the one that got her. I never thought of it that way.

Even when Atlas is panicking over their impending doom, he’s still full of sass.

The fact that he’s so certain he’s gonna die… I am yet again extremely worried for Atlas.

I think the fact that this games is going to give the tributes more of an opportunity to appeal to sponsors will really work in Atlas’ favour. That seems to be their biggest skill.

I love how Cora is still hating on Urethra Franklin. Their rivalry is so funny!

I enjoyed this goodbyes chapter. Pretty much every POV felt like an event. I feel like you did a very good job selecting tributes who had conflicts or unfinished business with their friends and family.

A: 1. Perhaps. I don’t really like pineapple on it’s own but when it’s cooked and mixed with other food it’s okay. I wouldn’t refuse to eat pizza with pineapple on it but I also wouldn’t demand pineapple on my pizza either.

2. Minecraft. I don’t really play many games, I mostly just listen to video essays about games while I play Minecraft. The best game I’ve watched a video essay about is surprisingly not Danganronpa V3. It’s Mouthwashing. I am OBSESSED with Daisuke. Unpopular Opinion: Daisuke and Swansea are BOTH District 7 villains. I don’t care that they’re in space. I don’t care that neither of them are the actual villain of Mouthwashing. When you drunkenly dance around holding an axe or wear a Hawaiian shirt all the time so when other characters think of you while having a mental breakdown they just keep seeing hibiscus flowers, you have achieved District 7 Villain status.

What a fantastic chapter. Very good work, it was great to see the tribute first impressions form the capitol tv show perspective, and I look forward to move perspectives like that, be it with Lin or other shows.

D1: Damn, it felt like high impact weaponized brainrot aimed squarely at the capitol and they are loving it over there, they are down bad.
D2: This was a career introduction to my liking, quirky Gir and no no-nonsense Tyrian.
D3: Leda came out as so socially blunt him, Claris as the sweetheart career
D4: Sabine was great, among the best and most human reactions to the events out there, where as Adina came off as a show off competing with D1 for the spotlight.
D5: Balor and Andromeda both gave almost exactly the first impression as one would have expected, one apathic, one pissed off.
D6: Hudson did a masterclass in how a younger outlier should try to leave a first im0pression. But my Soran, damn. You did solid work with his instruction chapter even if it surprised me in many ways, but this time you absolutely NAILED it with Soran. Networking, economics, and god damn podcast. I am so happy right now, thank you.
D7: One was possibly the most quirky thing around and the other was starting to put up a show.
D8: Corvina did as predicted, and Dove continues to be a top tier character with that extremely human and realistic take on her situation.
D9: One is high as a kite as expected and Shiloh is competing with the least atention grapping introduction, which has advantages and disadvantages.
D10: The first serving of Song-yi attitude has been served and it was super effective. Millicent somehow keeps having some of the best and grounded writing, and I don't understands how it compels me so much.
D11: Solid stuff from Perry, but damn if Charlie did not come of as one of the most obnoxious first impressions out there, really explains his ranking.
D12: So this pair got a weird format what made it hard to figure out but also served their character since it was the only proper duo interview, and their back and forth really worked.
D13: Atlas is a capitol favorite and Bex is a cutie, leaving impressions in their respective rights.
