This chapter was quite surprising with all of the tributes.

Satin: for someone called the The Bombastic Bastard, this sure was not what I was expecting. This is how he ended up locked in 12th, but I did not expect it to have happened in such a... played-like-a-sucker way. I am starting to think that the capitol ranked him low because they not only find him annoying (was that the reason his gang hang him up to dry?), but also because he seems, well, kind of a sucker. This is actually pretty refreshing and I actually would rank him high among the tributes we have introduced so far. Really following his career with great interest.

Lavish: Based on the blog I kinda expected social mastermind who plays people like fiddle. What I feel like I got was a troubled cat person. I have really hard time commenting on the content of his chapters, as it mainly focused on his character and motivation, but in a way that I found hard to categorize. Maybe "hijinks" started me on a wrong foot.

Charles: he was another one that I was really looking forward to figuring out based on the blog. His POV was hardest to follow, I found the initial chase somewhat confusing. As he seems somewhat criminal like Satin, I am starting to theorize Capitol does not like them because of their criminality. Charles seems like a man of action that I kind still expect to rise up the rankings. No matter how bad his poetry is.

You’re brilliant at writing dialogue- especially banter- between multiple characters. They all speak in their own way, and bounce off each other so well.
So so excited to see more of this fic, I’ve had a blast reading it so far :]

Girmyr: The rebel-to-sacrifice pipeline goes hard. Seriously, though, what a concept; that would certainly weed out the pretenders. I love how indifferent the worker is to Atonement Day, Two is such a hardcore place. I assume the whole event is public knowledge; if so, why the hell would anyone be a rebel in Two? The fact that Gir got assigned her parents is pure Linds drama. Honestly, I found it funny. Like, actions have consequences funny. Confronting too, absolutely, but I am dying to know more about it. On Gir, she seems a bit out there. I get that impression mainly from the way she introduced herself to the worker. Like, dude, this is Atonement Day; get serious! Not sure I am a huge Gir fan, but I love how brainwashed she is. Sure, Two is good for that, but the fact she turned her parents in? She must have ate that Capitol propaganda up. She also talks a big game about representing Two, especially for someone so unassuming. Can she walk the walk? I wonder, especially since Sir cannot exactly be her token. Would certainly shake things up if he could!

Atlas: Atlas strikes me as unimpressive, at least in terms of Games prowess. Nevertheless, they are interesting. They obviously have big dreams; could they ever get to Three? Tall order, in my opinion. I liked the interaction with the Peacekeeper; that dude was chill as. I found his calm intriguing, especially given Thirteen is more near the bottom of the Panem food chain. I think an alliance could be on the cards for Atlas; maybe not with Adina or Gir, but someone else perhaps. For now, I hope Atlas slays the day away; the next six months will probably not be very slay.

Adina: Do we all know someone like Adina or just me? Her disposition and idiosyncrasies scratched up old memories for me; that was unexpected! I guess the result of that is her character and dialogue feeling more real to me, which it did. Her father has a very interesting story; is there a conspiracy there? Probably not, but I can dream. Her constant battle with herself about her father, life, and love is gripping. Those themes should definitely be explored in the Capitol, I think. Speaking of, I can see Adina being a contender. She can mostly take care of herself, plus she can obviously influence people to serve her interests. Of course, being a student of C.R.A.P. always helps. Once again, phenomenal dialogue. While I loved her perspective, I doubt she will be immortal for much longer; she seems like one of those roguish types. You know, the ones who eventually get outsmarted.

I guess Fervor works here, as they clearly have things to be passionate about.

I think Girmyr was good choice to start the intros. Her dog themed intro just eases into things nicely, where I would not have said same about Atlas and Adina. I think Gir was my favorite of the three. She just has that intense career spirit while also having levity from dogs, especially Sir. She really takes that dog theme far, it is even in her name, and she seems to be considered somewhat of underdog~ by her fellow district people.

Atlas was hard for me to get, mainly as I know nothing of fashion. The chapter did good job with contrasting his character with that of his district, and especially his anxious worrying about the future reapings made deliciously tragic.

Adina was more mixed than the previous too. Her seeking of passionate human combat yet being unable to feel anything deep made it all quite painful. The way she missed her had was a highlight, and it made her feel very human and likable. And the Ofek's being immortal mantra was very catchy and formed into an instant meme due to the repetition. We'll see how long you will be immortal, Adina, we will see. See if things end with victor Ofek or with her last words being O fuk.

1. I’ve had Covid once back in 2021. I got super lucky and didn’t have any major symptoms - only a fever for a few hours. Odette: She seems to be channeling that D1 egocentrism, and also seems like kinda of a mind game player. That hubristic quote really turns things to eleven. Not surprised that she is so high in fan rankings, to be expected from D1.
Lavish: Being number one of fan rankings is probably due to his abilities to really play the audience. I really like Obsession as fatal flaw, good to have at least one Career like that. I really wonder how an exotic choice of weapon like that plays out.

Girmyr: She throws me off a bit, because at first glance she seems like aggressive and wild fighter, but her flaw is dogmatism. Really need to see how those side make her character. Fan ranked 6 so she is quite popular.
Tyrian: I really liked that D2 famous headstrongness that he seems to give off. Halberd is a curious choice, a versatile weapon but strange to arena like environment. Now he is only 13 in rankings, which is a bit of a shock, but I guess he is not as much of a audience player as the rest of the pack.

Leda: Leda seems like like a smart person from a smart district, but clearly stands apart from other careers. 17 is kinda bad, which must mean the audience does not appreciate what is initially on the table. Perhaps the hardest tribute to figure out so far.
Claris: She really kinda makes me wonder how an altruistic career works, though I know from experience some angles that might support that. Her descriptions make her seem like very likable in the more down to earth sense, which probably explains her high fan ranking.

Sabine: She seems like the most whimsically engaging career, what with a talent like that childish energy. She is however somewhat overshadowed by the other careers in the fan rankings, and loneliness as a flaw makes her seem somewhat detached.
Adina: She is pretty much what I would have expected from someone in the top 3 ranking. Charm and exceptional, having that star power. I like her flaw and feel like she can be bit of a tension creator in the pack. Bladed whip is a showy and very skill dependent weapon, but challenging in many environments.

Balor: His fatal flaw really explains his ranking at the bottom of the barrel. Apathy is something really unlikable for an audience seeking to be entertained. His quote is nice, and I feel that character like him really rounds out the cast. We'll see how that apathy lasts in face of mortal peril.
Andi: Now Andi clearly has some damn eye catching x factor for be ranked 4th in the rankings. Secrets as a weapon is probably more of a pre-game weapon, but wrath really makes be wonder what kind of intensity this tribute holds.

Soran: My boi, coming out much better than I expected in so many ways, one of them being his initial ranking. 14th is higher than multiple careers, which shocked me since I Capitolites would place him very low. I really look forward to seeing how he navigates the games as a "savvy scoundrel", love that description.
Hudson: So Hudson would normally fly a bit under the radar after so many careers and impactful tributes, but he is my boi's district partner so she gets special attention. Daredavil seems to sum her up nicely, and the joyriding rounds it back. 10th is pretty good, so she must have left an impression. Nail gun is a tricky choice, those are usually very short range due to the safety function of it needing to be pressed against surface, but could be devastating.

Malus: He seems like one of the first decently kinda seeming tributes. Always need people like this in the games.
Seventh: A name made for his district. And his ranking. I think the audience must have found the name funny and fixed that rank by balancing votes. He is one of those tributes that instantly jumps up as a possible outlier favorite. His character seems slick and very well fitting into this particular type of pregame environment.

Corvina: Love the name. Somewhat hard girl to get a grasp initially, and I think that is reflected in her score. Claws are not a very good weapon I think. She is the first tribute that really gives of vivbe that she might not make it too far. Other my Soran, of course.
Doverina: Good ranking, seemingly someone the audience find interesting. Good liar, it seems. Disillusionment kinda gives me an idea of someone sliding towards cynical view of the world, but who seems to be hurt by it rather than it being an asset.

Shiloh: seems like the type to get ranked so low initially. Outlier, not standing out too much. Had to look up echoism, and still not really understanding how is fits his character, but I will see.
Asphodel; Similar to his district partner, he seems like a pretty normal lad. I think I read some indication of substance abuse. I wonder if that will cause withdrawal in the Capitol.

Song-yi: Now she is someone who really jumps right at you from the blog. I might say she has the best or at least my favorite portrait in the blog. She has a very intense look that shows she means business. I think the audience can see that as well for giving her such a high score. A possible favorite of mine so far.
Millicent: Kinda like apathy earlier, nihilism is something that easily make one dislike someone, especially in the context of the games. She seems to have ranked right where she feels appropriate. And damn, that quote hits like a truck.

Charlie: Charlier is another tribute that really cached my attention base don the blog- A seconf possible favorite of mine. He ranks very low, which is at odds how I perceives him, so he really must have have come off badly in first impressions. He is definitely someone I see as most likely rising high in the rankings, just a gut feeling.
Perry: on one hand very average tribute, but one that give of a very damn humane and relatable vibe. Another very sweet seeming tribute.

Jalen: for some reason Jalen just seems very inconspicuous, easy to miss, easy to pass over. His ranking seems to support that. And Pasta spoon is definitely not a weapon.
Satin: Bombastic Bastard, what a way to be described, and what little I have heard of him that seems fitting. 25th placement means he must really, really come off as unlikable, I wonder what he did to earn that. Looking forward to figuring him out.

Becquerel: Our youngest tribute, helps her stand out. Lol, she really seems adorable in a child like way. A little adventurer.
Atlas: someone to round up the cast, and doing in way that leaves high note impression. Decently high ranking, seems like an outlier easy to root for.
