I will be honest. I didn't like this chapter.
Entire chapter about the past that won't change just to end up with Laura. I Hate flashbacks. I rather this was he first chapter of the story.

sorry but what in the FUCK does Xander have to feel in awe about? He and the Scoobs LITERALLY saved the world from going to Hell multiple times. The X-men sure save lives but how many times, exactly, did they actually save THE WORLD?

I want to give this fic a chance. But honestly 3 chapters in and 80% is Xander in his own head, rehashing the same fuckign thoughts, over and over. And how, exactly did he just happen to find a Xavier mutant in trouble in New York, a vastly populated and VERY large city, so he could just happen to get a ride to the exact school for the gifted he needed?

His mom's letter was fuck all for useful info. James may be in NY, using a different name at A school for the gifted. No name of the school, town or county the school might be in, no hint on James' new name. And Xander flies off to NY and within minutes stumbles across Rogue? Does he even still have his bags from the plane? Was he lugging them around while fighting and running?

Did his eye grow back when it was itching back in LA? Because repeatedly after that you say he's 'looking into his own eyeS plural in the mirror and similar sayings.

I dunno if this is another AI written fic and that's why it seems to take forever to get anywhere useful, or if it's just an early writing attempt. But enough internal monologue, enough awestruck 'aw shucks!' attitude from a seasoned demon hunter who has helped stopp multiple world-ending events.

So here's the problem: you've got the wrong Xander. This isn't the Xander of post Chosen. This isn't even the Xander of seasons 5-7. This is Xander season 3 at best and more like Xander season 2. And it's causing some disconnect. You've skipped the tv series by setting things post Chosen. Yet you've done nothing to explain why Xander is different than he is in S7 and post Chosen. That Xander was enough of a bad ass that he went off solo to Africa to find new Slayers, ended up a mix of Nick Fury and Alan Quatermain. This Xander is still mentally and emotionally the insecure, immature teen from the beginning of the series. Sure he's got some skills but skill doesn't make a man or a character. Why is Xander so insecure, why didn't he go off to Africa to lose himself in work. Etc.

Just want to remind you that Wolverine(Xander too) powers mean you don't get physically tired(stamina for days) and super strength.
You see Wolverine throwing people through concrete and denting metal in his latest movie with Deadpool.

okay I have to ask what happened to xander's super senses. I mean when he was hunting vampires with blade he could see in the dark he could hear the vampires conversation from several rooms away, and I'm pretty sure his sense of smell was enhanced. did all of that just go away? so why can't he tell that Felicia is the black cat?Also how much of a healing factor does he have. I seem to remember you saying that he healed the wounds from his claws quickly, so is that the only advanced healing he has or what? did his eye grow back or is he still rocking the eye patch? sorry if I'm bombarding you with questions but my OCD is not leaving this alone. besides that loving the story can't wait for another chapter.

Really liking this so far. you do a good job of making xander's reactions to what's going on believable. He's questioning and doubting what's going on not because of paranoia but because he has PTSD and the world just threw another curveball. please please please don't sink the rogueGambit ship.I have a question about his black claws. Are they more like the bone spurs from wolverine origins or are they more like Logan's normal claws just black?

I can't wait to see what Xanders black claws can do to vamps and what the energy is and the X-mens reaction to the difference between wolverine and xanders claws.

This is a fun chapter and nice to see Xander's claws finally coming out, literally. I like the description, and Blade and Black Cat are favorites, too, so I am hyped to see next chapter!
