Can you send me the whole story?
| Ashen Author chapter 17 . 12/31/2012
This is one of the best fics i have ever read. I have to wonder (hoping this might prompt a follow up/ sequel) how does Lina feel knowing that her & Ryan's parents lied about Erik's death. Also, does Luna know? Hpw would that confrontation go?
| Luna12 chapter 17 . 6/4/2010
What an incredible epic. Although I'm not into much lemon (I'm a prude), it's easy to skip those passages and enjoy the rest of your well crafted story. Your plot threads and mysterious intrigue come together very well and remind me of some of the original Slayers novels. Even though you take quite a few liberties with Lina's background that are a bit contrary to the established canon (Lina left her home town after she tried to make money selling images of her sister in the bath, and Luna's impending wrath), you manage to make it very believable and an intricate part of who she is and how she came to be. I liked your interpretations of how magic works in the Slayers universe and incorporating that into Lina's recovery. I'm a little surprised by how well Lina managed to keep her temper around the servants, but I can overlook that a bit. The ending is beautifully sweet and open-ended enough to let the reader image those two adventuring off into the sunset, coming back to a true home whenever they wish.
I can also overlook your re-writing Gourry's origin/background, as it only comes up in more obscure references that haven't been officially translated into English. However, it wouldn't be too difficult to blend your background story into canon if you ever want to revise things.
I also found Lina's bashfulness in having Gourry watch her dress/undress very realistic! I was the same way when I first got married! I was quite the innocent virgin and totally related to Lina.
I do miss not having Zelgadis show up in the story, but the story really wasn't about him and that's okay. Too bad there isn't a sequel. I can only imagine how interesting things could get with Lina having more control over her magic, the Ragna Blade, and potentially many other spells! She's prime to join in/get drawn into a civil war between the Mazakou, or another war of the Monster's Fall.
Thank you for writing such a touching story. I was immediately drawn in and found it impossible to stop reading until the end.

This is the BEST fanfic for Slayers that I have read! Really well written and I really hope you write more! You are awesome my friend! Please keep writing
| VFIN chapter 17 . 12/3/2008
I really don't know if youl ever read this but I desided to give it a shot anyway!
I'm probably more than a little behind whit this but I really hope we see a sequel(It doesn't need to be as action filled as the Flam Gush story... It was probably a little too angsty in the part where they were captured but it really did fit the storyline...)!
I loved your writing and I enjoyed the story(I was happy whit the lenght of the story because most of the fanfictions are too short!). I'm still wondering how on earth you got it to play out as smoothly as you did!
You have convinced me that even I should try out a fic of my own!
Wish you the best of luck with your new stories and of course with everything else too!
...I REALLY HOPE WE WILL SEE A SEQUEL!...

Wow, I forget when I started reading this fanfiction, but it's been one dark and twisty ride - in a good way! I've never seen Slayers written in such a mature manner, but that's what made it unique. I absolutely loved the ending, it was perfect. Gourry's last line made my heart melt.
Part of me was just waiting for them makeout after not being able to for a very long time (not lying), but I figured that once they entered the crypt it wouldn't be happening, haha! I'm very glad it didn't happen either!
Thank you so much for writing this. Although I'm sad to have it end, I'm so happy it's been completed, not... discontinued!
I'm excitedly awaiting your next fanfic!

Thank you for the kind words, Kait! I’ve enjoyed every minute of being your beta reader for this story. It’s been a lot of fun and I consider myself extremely lucky to have a small part in helping you with it.
As I’ve told you before, I’ve greatly enjoyed the story from start to finish, but the epilogue is my favorite chapter. You’ve done an amazing job of reestablishing a sense of hope and life in this chapter despite the depths you took the characters to on the way to it. And you did it in such a way that it’s believable and not some trite, tacked on happy ending.
So, congratulations on writing my favorite work of yours yet. And I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
| Stara Maijka chapter 17 . 9/23/2007
What a lovely surprise to find you've updated so soon. From your last post, I thought it would be much longer before it happened.
This was a very satisfying epilogue. Sylphiel grew Gourry's fingers back. (Those of us who have seen Knight of the Aqua Lord know the magic of the Slayers world can reattach severed limbs. Plus Sylphiel is an even stronger white magic user than Amelia.) It was confirmed Gourry's mother was a clone. Lina's going to get a castle. I kept waiting for an unexpected nasty to attack them after such an easy clearing out of the bandits. That nothing didn't was actually a way to keep up reader interest, because the anticipation, given things rarely go smoothly for these two, lent tension.
Family introduction was sad but, indeed, sweet. Zelgadiss as a distant cousin? That would make a funny one shot. Hm, if he and Amelia marry, that would mean the four could all be related by marriage. Uh, oh, what would Lina make of that?

That was so good. I loved it. It really ended very satisfyingly. I'm glad that Lina clarified that she wasn't planning on settling down, but I really enjoyed the way Gourry introduced her and ended the introduction. Very sweet. This is a great ending, and I'm so glad that you stuck with it and were able to finish it. This story is one of the very reasons I still read fanfiction despite my everchanging tastes.

It's so exciting to see this fic finished-I think I started reading it when you first began posting it! It's been a wonderful ride all the way through-much darker than Slayers the anime in many ways, but with wonderful character development and background. Loved it. Not to be ungrateful, but while the epilogue is nice and conclusive, a part of me can't help hoping for a sequel ;
| DragonSword35d chapter 17 . 9/22/2007
Not a bad story. It got a little bit to angsty for my tastes for a moment, but that is ok. I think you could probably pull off a descent sequel.

| Stara Maijka chapter 16 . 7/27/2007
Yes, you did it! You added just the right touch of humor with the Deremar scene as well as an explanation of why he hadn't been included much after the first chapter. You also gave him good character development and changed him from someone rather vague but unlikeable to someone intelligent and more sympathetic than we would have imagined from that first chapter. The jellyfish banter and Lina's imagining was particularly amusing.
You definitely lightened things up with Lina's eating good meals and coping with dress scenes and the last part with Lina demonstrating her recovery. The binding ceremony was very original and lovely.
What has happened with the nasty steward? It's been a while since I read the back chapters, and I can't remember if he was taken out of the picture.
Ah, the name confusion, the braid, and hints of Rezo. Can there be a connection with certain experiments the Red Priest and Eris infamously conducted?
| sakuraankh chapter 16 . 7/26/2007
really good chapter. update when you can and keep a smile on! ;)
| linagabriev chapter 16 . 7/25/2007
It was good to see that you've updated. Very nicely done. I was a bit confused at the characters, because I didn't completely remember, although the explanation of what happened at the keep helped out alot. Although I couldn't possibly forget Erik or the general depressiveness of the story the words took on until Lina and Gourry got back together again.
I love the jellyfish conversation between her and Deremar. XD Very hilarious. Although I'm curious as to what his big plan had been to get Lina to "better than fully recovered". By the way, I remember that at some point Zelgadis had been in this. Where did he run off to? I can't remember or find it.
Anyways, awesome job. I'm glad that you gave us another chapter. I've still be contemplating if I want to pick up my unfinished story again, although now I think it will have been about a three year or so lapse. -_- Not good.
