Gallifreyan Phoenix chapter 3 . 12/16/2012 I love this story. It's so sweet and you did the characters justice. 3 |
LadyoftheShield chapter 3 . 3/12/2009 Let that be a lesson to you, Pip, and Boromir- you 2 rock! GREAT STORY! |
Larner chapter 3 . 11/17/2006 A most delightful tale, Citrine. Thanks for the laughs and the anxiety. |
Achipiquon Que chapter 3 . 10/23/2005 I love this story. The line immortalized in my mind is Merry bequeathing his blanket to Pippin. Yes, the plot is often done, but I haven't seen one of these done as well as this one. Good work. |
Pipkin Sweetgrass chapter 1 . 3/18/2005 I read and reviewed this some time back and only just rediscovered it. Added it to my C2 for consideration for an award! |
rabidsamfan chapter 3 . 2/18/2004 Nice story. Poor Sam and Pippin waiting for a rescue! I loved the riddle, and the apple as thanks. |
Pipkin Sweetgrass chapter 3 . 10/24/2003 This was good! I love Boromir, and Pippin is my favorite hobbit. You can tell from my own writing. I thought you did quite wll with this, and hope you'll grace us with more like it. |
boromir chapter 3 . 9/9/2003 Love it just the way it is! Please make more friendship fics. |
shirebound chapter 3 . 9/4/2003 How did I ever miss this fantastic tale? I've rarely read dialogue so true to the book-hobbits, and what a compelling, delightful story! I loved every word of it. Oh, I love Pippin "cludges" and, "you have always been my favorite cousin named Frodo." Wonderful! |
Robin Gurl chapter 3 . 9/2/2003 That was cute! XD GREAT! WRITE MORE PLEASE? RG |
Xena chapter 3 . 8/26/2003 What a delightful ending to this story. That green sludge that Aragorn made sounds disgusting, but it was hilarious to imagine that it drove Legolas out of the camp! Ah, so Frodo is Merry's favorite cousin named Frodo, how sweet! At least Boromir can stop worrying now, he knows the hobbits appreciated what he did. Oh, Gandalf threatening to turn the hobbits into coneys was hilarious, and I just imagined the way they all reacted to it, it was amazing. Lovely story! |
FantasyFan chapter 3 . 8/26/2003 Please do not feel that you have to apologize for holding off posting your story until you were happy with it. More authors should take the time to re-write until it says what they want and says it well. You've done a very good job in this story. I especially like your characterizations of the hobbits, individually and as a race. There are many good hobbity moments - Merry's complaining under the blanket, and the foursome's wistful recollection of the comforts of afternoon tea in this chapter. Gandalf is properly curmudgeonly without being irritating, Aragorn's humor is properly wry. I really like Boromir. First he thinks Pippin is going to be punished, then he thinks he himself will be. Too much harshness in his background to appreciate hobbits, it seems. So it is a good lesson which finaly sinks in. Without understanding hobbit love, forgiveness, endurance and hope, how would he ever see Frodo's strength? It's too bad this story didn't happen to the real Boromir: perhaps he could have accepted Frodo's choices with humility. A much appreciated and well-written story. Thanks! eiluj chapter 3 . 8/25/2003 Please don't apologize for "the wait between chapters." 8 days for 3 chapters is way better than average! [In fact, it's a dream come true.] You did a good job keeping everyone in character, which I always appreciate. This chapter was had several little bits I enjoyed, including Gandalf's "Perhaps I might have got another water bottle, someday, but where would I have found another bothersome, foolish little Took?” and “Coneys and foxes, gentlehobbits! Must I repeat myself?” I also enjoyed Boromir's sudden revelation about Frodo: very nicely written! |
Robin Gurl chapter 2 . 8/21/2003 You must update RIGHT AWAY! XD It's A GREAT STORY! RG |
Xena chapter 2 . 8/20/2003 What a great second chapter. I was so worried for Sam and Pippin, that was a scary moment. I liked getting a peek into Boromir's thoughts, and also how his concern showed at the end. Update soon please! |
