|Reviews for The Tale of Marian|
| firerosedreamer67 chapter 39 . 6/10
A truly unique and touching story of love lost and reborn! ...Wonderful! !...
| Evenstar gal chapter 39 . 9/25/2014
In the last few days I've been reading HaldirXoc fics, and none have affected me quite the same way as your story has. Marian had me captivated in her story line the whole way through, laughing and crying with her (especially when Haldir sailed). The ending however was clever, and I wasn't sobbing like I was when Haldir and Marian were saying goodbye.

Such an amazing tale... Just wonderful_ I can't stop smiling! This by far is either one of or the best Haldir romances I have read! And def one of my top fav LOTR based stories! Thank you for writing it! Namarie!

I have cried, squealed, laughed, and felt anguish with this story... Oh I love it.. And it's not even done yet! My sister would say that I was most animated when I figured something out before a character did and would yell at my iPad just like I would while watching a world cup soccer game and an obvious play was being either missed, or a glorious goal was just made! Aye! I just had to comment! LoL
| Sunsetcheetah chapter 13 . 9/24/2013
This is an amazing story! I feel like I should ( and I actually am mentally) take notes to use with dealings in my own life from the lessons they are teaching, especially Haldir. It reminds me of how I felt after reading 'Siddhartha'.

Really interesting story! And no mention of Elves yet and it's so intriguing _

I can imagine you spending hours writing , let tell you that story seams to be real. the details in it make it look like, I love to read no to much in English because is a language that i still learning writing. but i can spend hours reading when a story is good enough and yours is amazing. I star about at 3.00 pm and i finish by 3:00 am. can you imagine how good i twas? I speak and write three languages: Spanish, French and English. This is the best so far i have ever read. please I would like to make more question, but as I see you are not longer writing anything. So sad for that you are my favorite. Just to let you know that I opened a community at Google and link your stories so everyone can have access to your creation. the community name is Elves fantasy writes.

Thank you for writing and sharing such a wonderful and compelling work. You literally made me cry at points, not an everyday occurrence. May your pen ever be fruitful.

Dear Rana, this is a great story! I have never read such a really wonderful fic, and I would like to ask your permission to translate it into Russian and to post it on russian fanfic site (I am sure russian admirers of LOTR wold read Tale of Marian with pleasure. Sorry for my English:-))))
| melgonzo chapter 1 . 4/2/2012
I normally wouldn't review completed stories till the end, but what a beginning.
| Glory Bee chapter 39 . 3/21/2012
Rana this was one of the most beautifully heartrending and moving stories I have ever had the pleasure of reading. I say pleasure despite the fact that I wept the whole last hour of reading it, a very complex and emotional tale with a very satisfying conclusion. You are a very gifted writer. :) This was a different Haldir than I have met before but I loved the depth of his character and Marian's, lots of layers to these characters and Rumil and others as well.
| EnchantressM chapter 39 . 8/29/2011
Wow, you had me sobing throughout the story. And almost uncontrollobly when Haldir left to the west. Thanks so much for patching with a happy ending in the epilogue!
Also, you have no idea how much I appreciate that for a change this is the run-down-the-mill Mary Sue who is 18-22 years old stuff.
You're a very talented writer, and you wrote a well rounded story. Thank you, and I hope to read more LOTR romantic stories written by you!
| Vanafindiel chapter 39 . 3/8/2011
I tried reading this years ago, but I didn't have the attention span to focus on such a large piece of work like this. Yet, now I do and I'm glad I finally did read it, in four days no less!
I really felt the pain you put Marian and Haldir through, I loved and grieved every second of it, Hiril Rana1 Wordsmith.
I must ask though, how do you pronounce Methentaurond, and what is its translation. I've only been able to get Grey and Cave from it.
I wish this last chapter had in fact been another full length story. I would have love to have read Haldir's reaction to his Chosen Name. That moment when he might have heard it, the moment he turned back around in those moments of disbelief and the cautious hope. Yes, I would have loved to have read that.
Thank you, Wordsmith
