![]() ![]() ![]() The logical circus act demonstrated here is giving me a headache, I want you to know. For one, you don't explain why Sirius Black is thought to be a Death Eater, which is strange, because you've taken the time to change events in the timeline, but haven't bothered to establish your reasoning for said events. In the original story, Sirius is framed by Peter by playing on the populous' mislead understanding that Sirius was the Potter's secrets keeper under the fidelius charm, and the only way to reveal a location under said charm is for the secret keeper to give it away. (I want to point out that I do not say 'willingly' because Sirius suggests that he could have been tortured into giving up the secret.) However, in this, there's no event that causes Sirius' loyalties to be called into question. He is just called a Death Eater because reasons. Let me pretend for a minute, though, and say that maybe you just haven't revealed your reasoning for this first link in the chain of events in this chapter. I haven't read beyond this chapter and it is possible that you cover this in a later chapter. Why you wouldn't do that NOW as to know cause confusion in your readers, I don't know, but okay. This still does not explain ANYONE'S logical leap into assuming that the Potters are Death Eaters because Sirius Black is a Death Eater and no some would let a Death Eater around their child unless they were Death Eaters themselves. Let's back up for a minute. You say that the Potters are suspected of being Death Eaters because they are in support of Sirius Black and insist that he is not a follower of Voldemort. Again, we do not know why he is suspected but is it not logical that when someone you know and have grown up best friends with and have fought alongside each other in a war is accused of being a criminal, you would suspect that person to defend their friend because they know best the content of their character. At the very least that person would be the most skeptical and want their friend to be judged fairly so that the truth can be discovered. This is why people associated with criminal suspects aren't thrown in jail just because they insist that the person is innocent. I don't care if the Wizarding World is a backward dump, this is basic understanding that a toddler could comprehend. Yet for some reason, you would have us believe that the Potters, a young couple with a 15-month-old son wound just be thrown into Azkaban without trial just because they doubt the guilt of Sirius Black? My suspense of disbelief will only go so far before the logical part of my brain will start calling bullshit. Also, just because the Potters let Sirius around Harry doesn't automatically make them Death Eaters. Remember, Sirius was only recently suspected and accused, so by that information, that would lead the reader to believe that like in the original timeline, no one suspected Sirius of being a Death Eater until AFTER the fall of Voldemort. That being true, then it would stand to reason that the Potters wouldn't know either and would think having him near Harry would present any danger. Finally, I'd like to point out something that another reviewer pointed out, and while their point is short, I think it illustrates exactly what is wrong with this chapter and the lack of information to properly understand and accept what is happening. The following is a quote from that review: "Wasn't Sirius sent to Azkaban because he blew up a street? Didn't he blow up a street because of the confrontation after Wormatail betrayed the fidelius? But in this one, Wormtail didn't betray the fidelius. Thus the only thing that would make Sirius a 'death eater' would be associating with the Potters, who were 'death eaters'. But the Potters were suspected because Sirius was a 'death eater'. This makes no sense." This comment is what really sparked my thoughts into making this review because it makes a valid point that the logic used to justify the events of this universe is circular. Sirius Black is a Death Eater because he's associated with the Potters, and the Potters are Death Eaters because Sirius Black is a Death Eater. Also, I can't help but point out that none of this comes out at their trial, which leads me to believe they didn't get one. This is flawed, because the reason that Sirius didn't get one was because it was assumed that he was secretly Voldemort's right-hand man and had been put inside the order of the Phoenix to complete covert missions to cripple them, and if he were to be set free with an 'Imperius' claim the Death Eater movement could continue with Sirius as the leader. Sure, that could work here. But because the Potters are only guilt by association, then as far as anyone else is concerned, they're just grunt fighters, so there's no reason why they wouldn't get a trial. That makes no goddamn sense. |

![]() ![]() ![]() I can't be bothered to read this. The excessive amount of authors notes really puts me off. |
![]() ![]() ![]() The authors notes is now nothing more than padding for the word count. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Perhaps it's time to remove the author's notes (thank yous) from 2008? I can't imagine any reason why they should remain after so many YEARS! |
![]() ![]() yes this is the chapter where you lost the plot. went around the bend, the one where i am finished. i understand why the story is abandoned now |

![]() ![]() This is an exceptionally well written story and I really one day you might be able to complete as it's very different from all the other fanfictions |
![]() ![]() Personally, if i was put into Azkaban for ten years for a crime that I didn't commit then I would have rather left the country. |
![]() ![]() Now that he knows that is parents and Sirius are in Azkaban, why the hell is he not spending every waking moment making a plan to free them. Am I the only one who is surprised by his lack of care for his parents. |
![]() ![]() How the fuck has Harry not known about his parents till now. God this story just keeps getting worse and worse. I really should not have pick it up. |
![]() ![]() Where the hell is this story even going anymore. |
![]() ![]() He knew that Snape could read his mind and still chose to stare at his eyes. Is he stupid or merely incompetent. Anyone with a shred of common sense would not make this mistake. You are usually a good writer but this scene came off as really forced. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Drying charms are a thing a 6th year would be expected to know |
![]() ![]() ![]() Having dumbles and snape somehow suspect something already is ridiculous |
