Ah, here we go. A much happier way to end it. After all, Hope is back now, and this time she ain't gonna leave. She's going to nag at the back of Irulan's head for years. Just like a shadow that goes everywhere with you, irritates the heck out of you, and never leaves. I think I rather like the idea.

I loved this story..Even though the ending wasn't exactly happy...you came to a compromise and I liked it anyway. This story was fantastic and your a wonderful writer.

...that was a very awkward ending...i liked it, but it's kind of annoying that it just ended that way. it leaves too much wonder...i think i owul have prefered it if there wasn't even a an epilogue to begin with...but w/e. it funny to see that Legolas is so..pressed over her. lol. and that thing with Micheal and Elizabeth. funny stuff. im secretly wishing that you'll make ANOTHER epilogue (though itd be strange), but, i seriously doubt you would even consider that. lol. it's sad that Fortress Around the Heart is over...no more... this is definetly the best romance i'veread in my life. i hope you write some other good stories because i really enjoy reading them!

i just want to say that i liked your story a lot and even though i did not loved the ending i liked it and i understood it , i finally understood everybodys behavior and agreed with their actions, and i think you wrote a great story because i could tell that it transmitted all kinds of emotions not only to me but to a lot of other people who were mad and sad and happy with the same chapters that i was , so thank you for giving me something to dream about and ill be waiting for the third part of irulan. i hope you let me know when you will start writting it.

*sighs* I love Legolas. He's just so darn attractive. I love the way he doesn't give up even when Irulan fights him. I truly believe, if the story continued further, they would get back together and live happily ever after. But, since you're not doing a sequel I'll just have to imagine that's what happens lol.

He certainly is persistant, I do believe that deep down, Irulan knows that Legolas will never, never give her up. Ah but when will they be together again? ever? Keep up the good work, I love your story.

WELL! I *thought* it was done. And, now that there is an epilogue...I love it even more. Thank you for not making it a mushy, happy ending. Also, I think it's great that it's not the heart wrenching sort of ending either. A hopeful in-between is really great. Any way, LOVED it TREMENDOUSLY.

Ahh... at last the end to a truely wonderful journey, and I have to add, what a journey it was! I will truly miss sitting here at the computer, my eyes clued to the monitor reading the next chapter, while you wait for my comments. Yes I know I rarely gave bad comments but this story has just touched me in a way that no other has. The emotion that we went through together through this whole process was amazing. From not be able to breath because of the anticipation and the heat, to the amazing historical pictures you painted, and the many tears that flowed, from both of us while we listened to "Into the West" durning Baeron's parting. Yes it may be sad for me now, but the memory of this time we shared will last a life time in my heart, and I am most thankful for that. I know... I am getting all sappy here. You, my friend, deserve a well earned rest. So go...and enjoy... Love Ya Missy

That's it? That's the ending? What is it meant to convey? The sense that they'll be locked in battle against each other until Irulan caves from sheer fatigue? Too ambiguous and indistinct. Clumsy ending for what had been a pretty cool story :(
