![]() ![]() ![]() Ah, this was a fantastic chapter. I enjoyed it immensly. ] It truly is amazing how they went from almost pure hatred for one another and then to full out confusion and near to love. I love it. ] They are so cute. Thanks for writing. I shall continue reading ] |
![]() ![]() ![]() WOW. just finished reading this story and I must say it is Freakin Sweet. Man Irulan is stubborn isnt she? If Legolas offered me anything I would take it and say "the heck with what i want. Take me I am yours". Shoot I would even say that for Baeron or Haldir. You are a very talent author and I am glad you shared such a great story with all of us who have read. Keep up the writing hope to see more. HUGGLES |
![]() ![]() ![]() Oh man... that Legolas... What a guy. haha. Great chapter! :) |
![]() ![]() ![]() Poor girl. Good backbone though! ) Legolas is such an odd fellow! hah. Hunt indeed. |
![]() ![]() ![]() waha. Seduction for the win! Not going to lie, it might be nice to be seduced by Legolas. haha. Well written! Dunthonwen |
![]() ![]() ![]() Aw. Old memories, they are always good. ) I'm really happy she stood up for humans. yay. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Woow. Legolas is a meanie. Thankfully Irulan has a backbone. |
![]() ![]() ![]() So sad, but so true. Sometimes you have to wonder if they really are still out there... |
![]() ![]() ![]() GAH! I remember reading this the first time, when it came out (god, now I feel old). Its better this time. I won't be rereading the sequel, because I like the way it ends. Fantastic work. Five stars |
![]() ![]() I really do not understand why Legolas would be interested in a selfish, self-centered, judgemental, irritating woman like Irulan who thinks herself his equal and only proves to be someone extremely difficult to live with. I've tried reading this story several times, but you've created an unlikeable heroine that I simply do not enjoy reading about. Her arrogance is staggering, her ignorance where Elves are concerned even more so. This Legolas must be a masochist, I can't make sense of their relationship any other way. |
![]() ![]() ![]() Darma where are you? How could you abandon all your writing like this? Couldn't you just write the ending to Penamento? Alot of people have invested alot of time in reading this Gah! It's hopeless! Hugs the imp |
![]() ![]() ![]() *breaths a deep, content sigh* Good greif, but i love you're writing. This isn't the first time ive read FAtH (hahahahahahaha, fath! FATH! ..ahem), in fact it's currently my third time through. I've even reviewed this before, a long time ago when and under a different name when i first read it, so really i have no excuse to be back here at all. And yet here i am, in awe of your characters, your plot, and the fantastic way you string sentances together; and unable to stop myself from telling you all about it. (Though i'm sure you're probably sick of people leaving pesky reviews years after you've completed the story. Really, it must be terrible for you.) I simply find your story an addiction. I devoured the paragraphs, the pages, the chapters, the whole story, filled with the desperate desire for more before i was even done. I dont know or understand how you do it, but you certainly do it well. And i'm devastated that you dont seem to be writing anything anymore. There is of course your sequal, Pentimento, which is just as fabulously written, but somehow does not exude the same essence that youve captured here. I view that (unfinished and decidedly ABANDONED! SOB!) story almost as one big, extremely detailed epilogue, and though i love it too, it cannot compare to the original. There is something in the flow of Fortress that absolutely entrances me. When Legolas was courting Irulan, i was absolutely seduced into the tale. I'm not sure how to properly describe this in words, but there is a sense that you are whisking us away to Rome and Paris along with Irulan, as if you mean to capture our hearts while Legolas is capturing hers. That leg of the journey was when i fell in love with this story. And in Germany, on that hill overlooking the town, is when i fell in love with Legolas. You have this remarkable way with your characters, somehow managing to tap into both their inner dialogue and thoughts, while reflecting it in their physical actions and expressions in a way that doesnt bog down or overload the story. You make everyone so real, so dynamic, that i wonder if really Legolas is not sitting somewhere, reading this and thinking 'well golly, now thats EXACTLY how that happened!'. And while on the subject of characters, let me just say one thing about Baeron. And by one thing, i mean many things. First of all, how on EARTH did you manage to write such a likeable, no scratch that, LOVEABLE 'bad guy'? It baffles me. Here he is, this impish creature stepping in between two lovers, all but prying them appart - and not too innocently either, mind you - and yet we love him! We cannot help but symathise with him, and secretly want him to get Irulan even though we REALLY want her to be with Legolas. It's just amazing. He is one of my favourite characters ever. This whole story is one of my favourites ever, and i'm not talking just about fanfiction. It is just a peice of artwork in and of itself. The metaphoric scenes with Irulan and Legolas on the battlefeild defending their fortresses, was a (excuse my language) FUCKING BRILLIANT addition. I dont know how you thought that up, but its certainly one of the reasons that makes this story so unique and fantastic. That, and the scenes with Fate, give this an artistic touch that is like the final layer of a painting, adding an intricacy, a depth of detail that sets it appart from other good paintings. I just love this story. I love it so much. Words cannot describe how much every single chapter impacted me. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE! Seriously! SERIOUSLY! ...NO, REALLY! LOVE! Possibly i should stop now, before this review deteriorates into even more rambling incoherrance. But i think you catch my drift, at this point. There is simply not one thing out of place with this story, in my eyes. And if ever you decide to write proffesionally, and get a book published, you had better tell me about it so that i can buy it and cherish it and be forever happy. *grin* And on that slightly stalkerish note, i shall leave. Unitl i next get the urge! ~Saltwater |
![]() ![]() ![]() hey, don't worry about it. it's all a level of maturity. you were actually a little on the blunt side with describing their motivations/feelings/character. you share with us their deepest thoughts, feelings.. don't blame yourself if some people can't understand it. they simply don't have the experience, or perhaps the insight, to really SEE it. i'm sure your story helps them w/ that though. :P |
![]() ![]() ![]() i really hope that when irulan & legolas meet again, she brings him down a few notches. he needs a little less pride & condensation towards irulan. if things are going to work out as a couple, he needs to see her as an equal, not a foolish child. **rolls eyes** sorry for all the reviews..haha..can you tell your story gets me all riled up? :P |
![]() ![]() ![]() hehe..i loved irulan's escape! it was so sneaky & kniving! haha...she shouldn't have used her credit card though...cash advance is the thing to do.. now legolas is gonna follow her to europe.. **sigh** |
