| Archiril chapter 35 . 1/24/2012
You are wonderful. During the story, I was amazed how you could write a story without a real plot, and still, I always had to read the sequel (though I had to study actually, curse you :P) I loved the way you showed the life of Legolas and Thranduil so differently. It was a whole new perspective to look at things, and I'd like to thank you for that :) I really enjoyed it :)

*sobs* There is no words to describe that story.
It is a perfect story...
| sazza-da-vampire chapter 35 . 1/28/2009
wow. This whole story is amazingly beautiful, in both content and the writing style. It is an inspired window into the minds and hearts of so many characters, the elvish way of life and the heartwrenching decisions which every Elf in those times had to make.
Congratulations on an amazing fic, and all the time and effort ou've put into this

“Do you love them, do you cherish their friendship?”
“Ai, they are both like brothers to me, especially Gimli,” I replied allowing an affectionate smile to curl my lips as I thought of the Dwarf.
Why "especially Gimli"? Because this one had gone with him in Valinor?
| Scarlet chapter 35 . 4/1/2004
That was SO beautiful.
rarely did I read stories in which Legolas and/or Thranduil are portrayed in a way, where we can explore both their regal position and behavior as well as their personal.
Most stroies I read about Legolas/Aragorn put the elf in a position of being the weak. Either the submissive one in the slash stories, or the one in need for the help of the human, in the others.
Although some of those stories (depends on the way they are delivered) are quite interesting, I was VERY happy to read this one.
It made me feel good all the way. Not that I didn't shed tears. I did. Enough... :-)
But I read the trilogy books as well as some others (Silmarillion, the unfinished tales etc.), and I feel that the elves are the strong ones, even if they are at the end of their path in middle-earth.
So, I just wanted to share my feelings, and thank you for a wonderful story.

| dd9736 chapter 33 . 1/23/2004
I don't know why I bother, I always end up with tears in my eyes. well written, though you could have been more specific about how long had passed, it seems as if only a few hours, but then they state tathar is fading, which in most cases takes weeks, even months.
| JastaElf chapter 33 . 1/23/2004
Ai! How sad... how compellingly sad, that they would get into a fight over Faelas! The kid would smack them both...
I'm glad Thranduil, who knows they both SO well, is there to intervene. It could have gotten ugly... in fact it did! Legolas was genuinely hurt and angry, even though he knew Tathar wasn't quite sane over this...
It will be sad to see Tathar sail, but it is necessary. If he fades, Legolas will be heartbroken... :-(
But an excellent chapter with very fine characterizations, nin mellon! Thank you!
| JastaElf chapter 32 . 1/23/2004
What a lovely and yet sad chapter... Aragorn's going to be a daddy, but Tathar misses his son...
AND we get to see Gwael again! That was neat, tying both stories together like that! And Thranduil has met him... VERY nice piece of work, that.
I see there's another new chapter... YAY! On to the next! Thanks for this update!
| Emerilian chapter 32 . 1/22/2004

| LeaMarie F. Metallium chapter 13 . 1/21/2004
I like you're fic so far! I'm only 13 chapters in and I'm totally absorbd. I can't to wait to read the rest.
| JastaElf chapter 31 . 1/19/2004
What an excellent chapter. I do so love Legolas Angst... and there is plenty of it to go around here! Nice to see he is gaining an appreciation of those who came before him in the duties of running a country... And it is VERY good that he is surrounded by friends like Tathar and Gimli, because he sure seems to need it right now. The sea is calling harder and harder... and we all know he's got a LOT of years left to go!
Always good to seethe Twins again... (grin) I'm sure their presence will help as well, seeing as they probably have their own issues going on about departures and the like. (Even if they DID almost upset the apple-cart, so to speak... Arwen would have had their heads! Snicker...)
I think it is so sweet that Legolas still needs his Adar. I can't wait to see the two of them together...
Thanks for another lovely chapter!
| JastaElf chapter 29 . 1/13/2004
Oh now, this was a delight... Poor Thranduil, so caught up in worrying how he will miss his son, that he cannot greet Gimli with anything other than annoyance! Thank heaven Gimli understood, and Legolas and Tathar intervened...
Lovely too that Tathar and Gimli got along so well and so quickly! It would have been disastrous for Legolas if his two dear friends had disliked each other!
I loved the tale of the attack while the Elves were bathing... (grin) I can imagine that YEARS' worth of teasing will arise from THAT one! (Not to mention the plotbunnies that hop about at the concept of Dwarves rescuing a bunch of wet, nekkid Elves... hee hee hee...)
And how intuitive of Legolas, to invite *Aragorn* along-remembering intelligently to have him bring his crown, just in case... (grin)
What a lovely, fun chapter! Thank you!
