Wow, mysterious stuff. Well, I think you did well with Riku's character. The only part that bugged me was when you stated that he would give up his friends.
Then again... he didn't mind leaving his parents. Neither did Sora though... _ My head hurts.
Anywho, nicely written, though it was short. About the fact that the boy have all the fun, a little of that is japenese culture. read ranma 1/2 and you see what I mean.

Intereesting consept. I like it and i have to agree there is to little female involment in games. FFX-2 helps alot and your mums right there will be a KH2 if you beat the first onr compleatly you see a trailer for it.

You've managed to give us a major insight into Kairi, as well as her feelings for her two friends. Though I disagree with your potrayal of Riku in the fic; I don't think he was quite as evil as you seem to be making him out to be, but nonethless, it's a matter of opinion. Also, please try and keep your geography straight-I believe the waterfall was on the other side of the island!

I'm glad that someone is doing a rewrite where, yes, Kairi is more than a damsel in distress.
Because if how rare it is to see her as the story goes on, you don't get much of a feel for Kairi's character. I'm sure you'll do a good job in changing this. We'll definatly be seeing more of her now, eh?
You definatly seem to have a feel for this already and you have pinned Riku's character... arrogant. Although I don't think that he would give up his friends to be the best at this point of the game. Mabye later though... he does become quite a pain in the butt as the story goes on. He is a nice person at this point... just too competitive and over-confident. I never really liked Riku anyway.
Lastly, *claps* keep on going! This is a GREAT start.
