This was really excellent to find. The Joker is a character that I have really focused on lately, and I have been looking to find a portrayal of him believably having sincere feelings of some sort for Harley. I do this because if she's just a manipulated pawn and nothing more, her existence becomes much less interesting and her mad dedication more inexplicable.

This did an excellent job reinterpreting the cartoon episode into a context where the Joker is just as insane and murderous, but still human and vague and perhaps even weary, feeling both superiority and fear as a result of his madness. It helps that the whole thing is extraordinarily well-written, particularly his thoughts on madness and the sequence with the roach. I also very much liked him "accidentally" punching Dent in the crotch and his "sex is so insufficient" bit, which I think is a good way to approach his potential thoughts on sex. It was also good to see him somewhat subdued at points; I get the feeling that you can't keep up such mania 24/7.

I'm extremely interested to see how this Joker narrative work in the context to his future obsession with Batman and abuse of Harley. Does he still feel the same about her then? Has he lost interest in her? Does it arise from his impulses to destroy things close to him? How do his feelings for Harley contrast to those for Batman? And what is the extent to this Harley's naivete?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions and comments. I just really like good Joker fics because he is one of the few fictional characters through which I can analyze and write a perfect madness, which I think is exceptionally good practice. Once again, really excellent fic. It was probably the best I've read so far, and I enjoyed it immensely.

I ofcourse, always thought there was way more to the Joker, but you just really brought it to life!

He actually seems to have more on a grip on life then most of us 'normal' human beings.

You know, most people would think that this couldn't be a legitimate Joker Fanfiction because the Joker is supposed to be a psychological clown with no feelings; numb to the human emotion. But the way you angled the details, the perspective of it, pulled it off. And that would be the utmost challenge if you attempted to write a Fanfiction of the Joker like this, which you did, and succeeded marvelously. Congratulations and I thank you for such an intense and deep story of the villain above all villains. "I knew I loved her then. WOW! I have to be honest that was absolutely amazing. So in depth and you really painted The joker in a totally different light than I had ever really seen in him played in. WIth the true intensity of a mad man but the soul and feel of a truly sane person. :) Keep it up hun cause to be honest with writing skill like that I Really think that you could go far : ).

Very well written! I was feeling what it must be like inside Joker's mind. Very good stuff. I will point out though, that I don't think the Joker would ever admit that he loves Harley, not even to himself, in the safe confines of his own mind (but then...is that even safe? lol). And I love this story.

Whoa, that was incredible. I absolutely loved this, especially when she first walked by his door and he could feel her standing there. And the last line is so haunting and perfect, wow! Anyway, fabulous story.

I don't think I've ever read a Joker one shot as amazing as this one. I'm blown away. Normally, I would leave a much longer review than this one, but I'm honestly just speechless. There wasn't a single moment in here that I didn't enjoy.

I have one word for this story: "Unbelievable!" I can't even begin to express how mind bogglingly good this fanfiction is. The mixture of pure insanity and lucidity is stunning!

To summarize this short-story in two words would be hard...but I think I would say Powerful and Thought-Provoking. The descriptions and thoughts going on throughout this are genuinely gripping. I love the way you protrayed Joker and Harley's relationsip.

This is going under my insant faves.

It's rare that an author tells a Joker story from his perspective; getting into his mind is a little bit daunting. You did a nice job with it! I loved the song reference; it's a good one for them. And just a good song in general. The only criticism I had: I wasn't sure if your Joker admitted a little too much to himself? I don't know; he seemed introspective and ration to an unusual degree. But, of course, I say "your Joker" for a reason. You can make him whomever you want him to be; it's your story. ;) And I liked the dynamic of their relationship here. Well done!
