| Reyka Sivao chapter 25 . 3/13/2012
Yay! Everything's all right again! At least until next episode. D
I liked this story! I was crazy-dark, and I wouldn't recommend it to everyone...but it was definitely worth the ride!
Keep up the good work! )
(Oh, I noticed a missing word in the last chapter: "I told he was fine.")
| Reyka Sivao chapter 24 . 3/13/2012
Wow! That was an entirely satisfying conclusion. D
Also, Batsukuno is not only actually interested in justice, and ignorant of Bokuma's evilness, but also and incredibly powerful HEALER? Did not see that one coming. XD
| Reyka Sivao chapter 23 . 3/13/2012
Holy CRAP that was EPIC!
I certainly didn't expect the Hiruseki stone to play a role in it!
...you know, if those things can be used as yoki-batteries, Yukina would be a REALLY useful ally to have... D
| Reyka Sivao chapter 20 . 3/13/2012
Wow. Now THAT was interesting. I see what you mean about characters taking on a life of their own!
| Reyka Sivao chapter 18 . 3/13/2012
Ok, how on earth did you come up with all these complicated traps? O_O
| Reyka Sivao chapter 7 . 3/8/2012
I really liked that scene. I can really see the two as fire-forged brothers!
| mYtORnsaNDaLs chapter 25 . 6/16/2010
Wow... i have never read anything about Hiei and Kurama being "just friends" and "brotherly love" as amazing as this... i mean... i'm a fan of the two... i honestly believe and i have some proofs too that there's something going on between them that is more than friendship... but still this is very good.. .all the three saga... i happen to read the two fics before this one... were amazing... it still a little odd for me though the brotherly love... heheh... i still stick to the "romantically involve" but i love this one...lol... arigato ne? ja!
| Ranuel chapter 25 . 4/12/2010
This is excellent. Once again all the characterizations are spot on. The decision to show the realistic after effects of the torture instead of giving us a chapter or more of torture porn and then limiting the results to a little hurt/comfort really puts this ahead of a lot of fanfics. The injuries are done pretty realistically. You've done your homework and it shows.
There are hints that you are a gamer throughout and I wondered if the labyrinth ever got used in an actual campaign. I GM for a Rolemaster campaign from time to time and I confess to thinking of stealing some of your traps.
I love the way you describe things and your word choices when doing so. The vine “urping” up the “hairball” that is the defeated Bokuma is my favorite. In it's brief appearance you gave what is basically a plot device/weapon a personality.
I found myself wondering many times during this story what your take on the Dark Tournament would be and how events in this fit in with that as well as with the ending of the anime where Hiei seems to abandon everyone.
The name Bokuma made me think of the Baku only instead of eating nightmares, this demon gives them. I don't know if this was intentional or not. A quick Google tells me that Boku is actually a pronoun used for referring to children or servants. A loyal subordinate is certainly how he wants his boss to think of him so he can get away with his games.
The “rant” at the beginning of the final chapter is unnecessary and a bit off-putting. When reading the finished work with no pause between chapters the disclaimer pulled me out of the story with a jolt. You've shown that their relationship is that of friends, brothers in all but blood to borrow Wendy Pini's phrase, and the short ending scene in the bath has nothing in it to hint otherwise. You should have confidence in your storytelling abilities to show the relationship you intend.
On the whole I enjoyed this enough that I stayed up late one night to finish it and then turned around and reread it when the weekend came. I'll be recommending it to others. I'm looking forward to reading your other work once I get through the other stories on my to be read list that I skipped to go ahead and read this.
| Kurama no Miko2003 chapter 25 . 10/23/2009
I really enjoyed this series of fanfics; not many people write fanfiction set this early in the series. The dungeon and fight sequences were very well written and I love how you characterized all four of them.
| MusicForOxygen chapter 25 . 4/2/2009
You've definetly outdone ourself! I loved it! This definetly cheered me up! I hope there's another sequel!
| The Swordsman chapter 25 . 2/9/2009
Hey, I just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed your story. Hope to see more YYH fics from you in the future.
| Isis the Sphinx chapter 25 . 12/15/2007
Had fun with the credits, did you?
This fic almost reminds me of a war prisoner's story. Very nicely written, and good description all around.
| SpPandaaa chapter 8 . 9/8/2007
woot woot. I finished reading. XD
Nice job with the fanfic.
| SpPandaaa chapter 5 . 9/8/2007
Good job so far.
I'll continue later. I need to get ready for work TT_TT
| MyAibou chapter 8 . 6/5/2007
Excellent story! MAN, I HATE Bokuma! I feel like I really got to know these characters, and look forward to seeing them interact with "my boys" (and girls!) from YGO in Shards. :)
My only criticism is the constantly shifting POV. The drama of the final battle in particular could have really been heightened by switching sections as you switched character POV.
Well done! Onto Shards, which has already been downloaded to my PDA for my trip. :)
