|Reviews for Vetinari In Absentia|
| chibiaries chapter 13 . 4/22/2010
This was an absolutely marvelous piece that managed to properly convey the spirit of Discworld.
I loved the whole conversation about parrots and peacocks on the island, the story that Vetinari had once outstared a picture of a snake, and Downey's punishment.
This is made of undiluted brilliance and awesomeness! And a whole bunch of other wonderful adjectives.
XD A job well done.

I apologise, it was Mobius Shadow I mentioned the Ephibian problem to. Only one hundred lines.
| CarrieVS chapter 13 . 3/3/2010
You are probably the third best Discworld writer I've come across, after sanvimes and the almighty pratchett himself.
| CarrieVS chapter 7 . 3/3/2010
Good story so far, butI must take you to task on a matter of OCD:
One hundred lines:
'There is no 'I' in 'Ephebe'.'
Actually, I think I've mentioned this before.
Make that five hundred lines.
You might want to consult 'Rubber' Houser (Last Continent)

Lady Hanna. It has a nice ring to it _
I like the acting and plotting and conniving. 'Tis what Vetinari does best. Lol. I love him so.

Amazing. You are a master at work. This is the best nonslash Vetinari- hell probably the best Discworld fic around.
| Mr Stereo1 chapter 13 . 4/7/2009
GREAT story. Nothing I can say to fault it without deliberatly trying to be cruel.
| the caged potatoe chapter 13 . 1/2/2009

Y'know, the first time I read this, I was thirteen. I had found it terribly interesting, but didn't have the degree of mental maturity required to stomach it.
When I fourteen, I tried again. Still couldn't fully and truly appreciate it. The next year, I forgot about it.
Then, this year, when I was re-reading Jingo and The Fifth Elephant and Monstrous Regiment for the something-th time, I thought about Vetinari. Then Hanna. And then I decided I should try reading and appreciating it again. So I did, and now I'm going to hurry up and finish writing this thing so I can get on reading the next one.
Wonderful writing, as always.
| Gogol chapter 1 . 2/15/2008
I think this is the only Vetinari romance I have ever read and really loved. So incredibly in character. EVEN YOUR OC'S ARE IN CHARACTER. Whatever that means. I have been reduced to babbling (as usual) by the awe-fullness (in the literal sense) that this fic induces.
Er, thanks? XD

Can't possibly comment on everything I liked, so will just say that it is a wonderful story in general. Loved the coding at the end - so cool!

Now how did I miss this? Wish I'd read it during the summer when I'd have had time to read the thing the whole way through without being distracted at intervals. It's _great_.
If I listed everything that was good about this, I'd be here for quite a while, so just a few little points that I particularly enjoyed:
-Kinsey, Townsend, and Co. They were _priceless_. Just...so funny. In most cases, I don't particularly care for the insertion of original characters in major/recurring supporting roles, but these guys were _great_. Had me laughing out loud, they did. And you created wonderful personalities for them, as well. Anyway.
-The plot. Everything worked (i.e., was plausible), and it was creative.
-And characterization. I personally think you captured the personalities of the canonical characters wonderfully, and created engaging original ones.
But anyway. Loved the fic. I apologize for any incoherency contained herein; reviewing is not my forte.

I absolutely love this story. Can't wait for more... and I won't. Think there's at least one sequel left... :)

In a fit of boredom (blame summer), I'd decided to re-read 'Vetinari in Absentia' and realized I've never reviewed it :). So, allow me to say what a wonderful story this is. Vetinari's characterization is spot on (so rare for someone who's not Pterry ;)), and Hanna is a great new character. I hope you decide to continue this (and soon) _. Er, basically, thanks for giving me a lovely, very funny story to read about one of my favorite fictional characters.
