Bleachfan1015 chapter 31 . 3/24/2014 This was great! I nearly wept tears of joy when I found a good Trigun story that WASN'T ROMANCE! You did a good job on this and I hope you continue writing on this level with your other works. |
Nemine chapter 30 . 7/25/2013 Excellent job with this story, I enjoyed reading it greatly. It definitely made for an interesting continuation to where the series dropped off, and I can't help but wonder how this would change if it were to take place after the end of the manga rather than after the end of the anime. I am not sure if the time scale of over half a year to recover from his wounds is quite realistic, but in the grand scheme of things it works out well for this story. Either way, good job here and thank you for posting it! |
Vandenberg chapter 31 . 7/31/2010 Great job in writing this up, the philosophical side of this story really pulled me in, and it was surprising to see that you balanced out the theory with actual action - normally, fanfic authors would cut corners and go all out with the poetic meaning of a notion or an idea, which was what made this especially enjoyable to read. I'll have to admit, this story was quite touching in the way it was delivered and written, and your characterisation of everyone was consistent, and, above all, awesome. :BB I'll be looking forward to the sequel; keep it up! ;) -Sked-San-san |
spanglemeblue chapter 30 . 7/20/2009 Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Trigun, being the exceptional anime/manga that it is, has characters that can be so much more than 2D cutouts, and the grace and elegance with which you handled the transformation and evolution of Knives was utterly masterful. Exploring and developing the complicated characters of Vash and Knives, and going above and beyond, giving them realistic motivations for the things they've done... I'm awed. Even the girls, with their brief appearance, were perfectly spot on. (I have found that Milly can be surprisingly difficult to write properly, as she has many different facets that need to be accounted for, but you got her down pat.) The adult and mature rendering of the brothers' relationship _more_ than made up for the minor grammar and spelling issues. I have had arguments with friends, as to how Vash can possibly rehabilitate his genocidal brother, and how he would even go about doing it. Now I will simply point the non-believers toward this work. Thank you, for a truly satisfying story. _V |
Mirra Mirra chapter 30 . 6/4/2008 Ok, let me start with the fact that though the story hit me in a very depressing manner, I still enjoyed it. I'm not one for reading stories that are angsty in their realism, but somehow I stayed with the story and have finally finished it. Really, I've come to the same conclusion as many of the characters have. I don't love, but I accept it and see the story at face value. It isn't perfect-there are a few simple ungrammatical errors in each chapter and the formats a little hard to read-and I have trouble accepting your examination of both Knives and Vash; but this is your way of seeing them and it is your story to tell. At the end, I came to the conclusion that it was not only Knives that needed to do some soul searching, but Vash as well. Your way of seeing him as broken was heartbreaking, and that was probably the hardest for me to swallow. In my opinion, if Knives can change and heal, so can Vash. You've gotten my mind working, and you should be proud of it. Hats off to you for expressing so much emotion in a simple piece of online text, it's simply amazing. |
TrigunCrazed chapter 30 . 3/7/2008 Well I don\t know if you're still around here to read this anymore, but I want to leave you a review anyways. I read this fic for the first time over the last 2 days. I plan on reading your sequal as well. I'm so glad you were able to write these 2 complete fics. Many people never come back to finish theirs, and it's such a shame too. Now, I loved your fic! It's the first Knives' POV I've read. Always meant to but never did check one out. It would indeed take a year for him to change. Sad about Pete, btw. :( I loved everything about this and I especialy loved some of Vash's sides of the argument, like about spiders and butterflys. I too kinda wished for more Milly and Meryl but you are right, they didn't really fit into the story. In closing, it's awesome that Vash kept his word and got him a coat of his own. :D Blue, nice. Now it can't help but remind me of a Dante and Virgil kind of thing. lol (I'm such a DMC fan! ) So kutos on the great fic and I hope you come back to to write more fics soon! Your new fan, ~TrigunCrazed |
P.A.W.07 chapter 30 . 7/13/2007 Yah! Man that was a wonderful read. I’m so good I had that Trigun impulse otherwise I would have never found this story. I loved the ending and I think it was a rather befitting end. _ … man I wish I could see that coat. |
Aeryn Terry chapter 30 . 1/17/2007 Okay JUST finished! I am so thrilled with it. It was nice to see a story from Knives point of view, to see him reform. I thought the struggle was long enough and difficult enough to be believable. Very good writing, and I am on my way to read the sequal! |
Aeryn Terry chapter 7 . 1/11/2007 Hi! I know this story has been around a while, but I wanted you to know that I am enjoying it very much. I am confused why its taking so long for him to recover? Its been almost 3 months so far and he still needs bandages. I thought they were fast healers but i guess malnutrition and all that can hinder it a bit. Otherwise I am reading on and loving it! |
alythia chapter 31 . 5/19/2006 ...(stare) actually i read it twice, but the fist time i skipped quite a few (a.k.a. a LOT) paragraphs of Knives rambling. coz too much animeverse fanfics in this fandom... (currently searching for more mangaverse fanfics) but then i read it again. all of them. and i was amazed. Knives was so... in character! ...but Vash is kinda...too harsh. gave me goosebumps. (shivers) oh yeah. how da hell ya get to write em all in a span of one year? that is so (well...again) amazing man! can't wait for your next Trigun fic! X3 now where's the Author Alert button... |
Thunder chapter 31 . 3/11/2006 I know this fic was published awhile ago, but I just MUST leave a review! And thats to say: Wow! I don't usually read fan fiction, but I've lately felt my Trigun obsession flairing back up, so I checked it out. I read it all in one sitting and thought it was wonderful. I really enjoyed it. Vash and Knives have to be my favorite characters and I really liked how you portrayed them. I'm going to recommend this to everyone I know who likes Trigun. Good work. It was a nice read. ) |
stretchingthelimits chapter 30 . 12/28/2005 wow! this fic just has so much goodness in it! i love it. i hate it when people write all those angsty fics and go all emo and bummery, and its so great when people write just really happy life affirming fics! and about knives too! woot! |
stretchingthelimits chapter 16 . 12/28/2005 i really love your writing! and your knives is so cool. i waver between him and vash being my favorites, but theyre both so cool! who can pic a fave? well anyways, what i really wanted to say is that if you still dont have a beta, id be glad to do it for you! i dont have one either, so we could even beta each others fics! how cool would that be... hahah! bye! ~elaine |
chimera17 chapter 31 . 12/12/2005 I love this story, and not just because it's one of the few that portrays Knives's redemption in a believable way. I always like stories that flesh out the personalities of the less-used characters, and this is the best example of this that I've read so far. |
Cypher NM13 chapter 30 . 9/12/2005 My hat is off to you. |
