| Mockingbird's Song chapter 1 . 6/9/2013
"He didn't swear to protect you, little one," Boromir said. "At the Council, he told you that you had his bow. I thought he was going to give it to you, but when we tried to take it, he wouldn't let go of it." I think this line was at least twice as funny because it came from Boromir.
"I doubt I could bow in this get-up, Mr. Merry," Sam sighed. Don't tell Aragorn that Sam or he will have you wear it all the time.
Hmm I wonder if those wandering Hobbits let anyone see them after all Oliephaunts is a word no one else seems to use.
I hadn't realised that they were in Rivendell for the anniversary of the barrow-wight attack. What did Elrond sense to prompt that last statement?
| Nikikeya chapter 1 . 8/18/2011
* Speak Friend, and Enter *
OMG! *dies laughing* Oh this was priceless... XDDD OMG that was too funny, truly though, poor Legolas, he didn't even get to say a word in his own defense. xDDD
The ending was hilarious too with Frodo and the other Hobbits all starting to walk off. Did they forget about the Wargs? What happened next? Did Gandalf shoot ice from his staff and freeze their feet to the ground so they couldn't leave? Did Legolas ever get a speaking part? Did the Hobbits swear revenge for making them wait so long in the dark and cold without food? xDDD

Dear Shirebound: Short or long, your tales are always good. These ficlets were very nice indeed, original and well-written. My favorite was the last, for the h/c factor, which you write particularly well! Thanks, as always, for writing and posting these. Sincerely, Darkover
| Anawey chapter 1 . 2/25/2007

**"You need to say goodbye to Bill, Sam," said Aragorn.
"Not on your life, Strider," Sam said defiantly. "Gandalf's never gonna get that door open."
"Why doesn't Legolas just translate it?" asked Gimli. "Why else did we bring that Elf with us, anyway?"
"I thought he came because he was being punished for losing Gollum," Boromir said.**
LOL! I snickered through all of that one.
**Frodo turned around as Merry and Pippin entered his room, and his cousins halted in astonishment.
"We're sorry," Pippin said, breaking the silence, "but have you seen Frodo Baggins?"
"Well, well, well," Merry muttered, circling Frodo slowly. "You look amazing, Frodo."**
Heehee. I giggled rather fangirlishly at the picture that presented... ;) I hope they do show the hobbits "arrayed as princes" in the extended DVD!

I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to review this, Janet! I loved all these little tales-your hobbits are always marvelous, particularly Frodo, a true prince of hobbits. And Rosie's bit was wonderful too. Thank you! :-)
| Baylor chapter 1 . 4/13/2004
1) Speak, Friend, and Enter - bwahahahahaha!
2) Princes of the Land - Now I just want to dress the hobbits up. Granted, I usually want to dress the hobbits up, but still.
3) Mistress of Bag End - I love this little glimpse of Rose.
4) On the Horizon - Elrond's last words gave me goosebumps. *sniff*
| sevilodorf chapter 1 . 3/21/2004
The tiny glimpses into their daily lives is wonderful. Economy of words that nevertheless speaks volumes.
| Aratlithiel1 chapter 1 . 3/11/2004
Oh, wonderful! I've seen the second two but the first two were brand new to me. I loved all of them, of course and believe me, re-reading the ones I've already seen was no chore. So glad you posted these and I'm so glad I have you on author alert! ;)
| Clever Hobbit chapter 1 . 3/10/2004
The first one had me laughing, the second smiling, the third did the same as the second, and the fourth had me almost crying. Lovely little fics!
