Reviews for The Horse |

![]() ![]() ![]() What an absolutely brilliant story! I admit I know zero about horses , other than they scare me a bit , but an original plotline, beautifully executed and cannon character growth without being trope-tastic or resorting to bashing, honestly the best story I’ve read this year, huge kudos to you |
![]() ![]() Dear Elsa, I loved your book. Such a good balance of fun, brooding, suspense and quirky, a substantial and intricate plot - I especially loved how you led the reader to guess that Simon was Snape, then disproved it, and then made it so that not only was it true all along, but it made perfect sense for things to turn out that way. And you know your teenagers backwards and forwards, too. All in all, you made my week. Now I want to take riding lessons. |
![]() ![]() So many times I've read this fanfic, but until now didn't notice a few things. First, in Flumes house, there was all those cat decorations, and then a big fat cat helped chase off Worm Tail: that lady could go the rest of her life with a quick retort of anyone criticized her obsession with cats- her cat saved her house ykw's attempt at a destructive bomb. Then it took me this long to figure out that the reason HP was able to eavesdrop on the horse whisperer and Dumbledore was because he had the pebble. No one goes up to Dumbledore's office without him noticing. Except that day. Oh the irony. Smooth move Elsa2 |
![]() ![]() It's a horse, just a horse What do you mean? Do you think it's dangerous? I don't think so And the whole 100 chapters set to answering that question. Lovely, such foreshadowing. No one really understood how protective the horse could be (except Luna) |
![]() ![]() Muggle horses, they're not very dangerous are they? And so your epic ff sets up the rest of the story. Voldy would disagree if he were around to do so. I've read my favorite bits from this "on a whim" story so many times. |
![]() ![]() Excellent story. I loved the friendship between all the main characters: Harry, Snape, Draco, Luna, Ron, Hermione, Albus, Remus, Tonks, Hagrid, the unicorns, etc. and how they worked together with a few other people to save the world. The story was long, but I'll probably read it again in 2 or 3 years just because I enjoyed the journey so much, and I've put it in a spiral notebook to remind myself to come back to it. |
![]() ![]() This chapter is the first one that is breaking my heart. I'm so glad there are more chapters, so you have time to fix things. But, kudos on the poignant writing. |
![]() ![]() Lovely, heartwarming/heartwrenching chapter. |
![]() ![]() Yay for Tonks. |
![]() ![]() Fun adventure in this chapter, but I'm still shouting, "Shut up and hurry!" |
![]() ![]() I am amazed how many hours of conversation they have while sneaking through the castle, fields, barn, paddock, over to the gate, through the forest, etc. While on a life or death rushed secret mission. Lol |
![]() ![]() Dramatic scene |
![]() ![]() Ha, I keep worrying that they'll forget to ring the bell. And I am very distressed Luna is not participating in this chapter. Oh, and you mentioned the horseshoe nails were raised. Lots of suspense! |
![]() ![]() High excitement. Bravo! |
![]() ![]() Fascinating scene. Their behavior reminds me of when various gods were mind controlled and forced to translate scrolls in the much more modern TV series called The New Legends of Monkey. |
