"Confessions of the Master" has been an incredibly well written, captivating story. I've sat at the computer for the last two days, completely unwilling to stop reading it for almost any reason...and I so, so, so look forward to seeing where else this story will go. This author has managed to use the art of the suspensful chapter ending, which is driving me mad with curiosity over the next part of the story. I certainly hope to see an update soon. I can hardly wait. Not only is the relationship between Holmes and Watson so artfully depicted, but the plot devices surrounding the idea of family and love do not fail to satisfy or intrigue.

! WHAT'S GOING ON? I smell a secret and unapproved marriage, followed by the murder of Abigail's husband who turned out to be a sibling we never knew Holmes had, and she tried to burn him in the furnace, but ~ I'm getting too sensational, aren't I? (LOL, sorry, I just couldn't resist) Anyway . . . I BEG FOR ANOTHER CHAPTER! This is great! "Inglenook." I'll have to remember that word for vocab for my English class. It's a cool word : )

Not fair! So totally not fair. This wasn't even a hint-at-what's-to-come kind of cliffhanger; it cuts off right in the middle of the action! *whine* I mean, I'm very happy you updated, but gah! Almost finished better equal a day or two...

In other notes, I got a mention in a story! *feels loved* Even if it's to accuse me of guilting you into something, it's still nice. I love what you're doing; the solution to the mystery is entirely obscure to me. Which is good. I can't wait to see what they talk about, but I'm not going to take to theorising with out all the relevant data present. I expect it to be good, though. Powerful. And I don't think you'll disappoint me.

Thank you for the view into Watson's childhood as well. So few stories (at least, good ones) delve into his past, at least beyond his days in the army. It's interesting to see what his early years were like. I agree with VampireNaomi; I no longer entirely hate Abigail. I really do pity her, in a sense. She's still Satan!Abigail, just with a little angst thrown in. _

Finally! It's a miracle I didn't go completely grey, having to wait that long. Of course, I appreciate the new chapter all the more for that.

Only one bit of nitpicking - when Watson is speaking about poisoning the room's atmosphere with no more toxins than oxygen, I thought you could also write 'carbon dioxide' (produced during breathing out).

Now that we've seen some of Watson's memories I can't bring myself to hate Abigail anymore. I pity her. Losing a father, being treated like that by her mother... Oh dear.

... calling Josh 'Harry' by accident, the grave and looking for custody of Josh all link up, don't they? Because... because Abigail had a child who she *called* Henry, but who died (or was murdered? But Abigail doesn't seem that devious) and was buried in that place. But because there was such a thing against single mothers and children out of wedlock, she couldn't even tell anyone the child existed .;; and she's ridden with guilt or *something* and sees Josh *as* Harry...

Or not. Could be totally wrong. Let's hope so.

excellent mysterious and suspensful stuff going on here... trying to puzzle it out...

my guess when abigail called josh harry was that she might have had a son of that name that died... this sounds like something that holmes could be looking for to hold over her head (a bit cruel, but fire with fire, as he said...), would explain the grave, and the photograph... it seems a little unlike her to have an illegitimat child (more than a little actually... but she wasn't always this dour... and watson hasn't seen her in forever... so, that's my guess. though holmes' talk of moriarty doesn't completely discount this theory, but makes it a bit less likely... even if this is true, he must know something more evil of her... hm.

aw... watson's flashbacks are really cool... his childhood is too much neglected in sherlockian speculation, isn't it- great to see! and of course, the mysterious hintings at holmes past... ooh, i want to know...!
