again my laziness has gotten the better of me, I read it 3 weeks ago but hadnt the time to review it. but I have been checking in everyday (normally 3-4 times a day) to see if you have reviewed it.

I love this chapter. I hate Abigail, she's the devil, she reminds me of Hilary Faye from "Saved!". the ending is pure torture! if you dont update I'm probably going to develop OCD from checking in on your story so much. please update!

WOW! I have just read the first part and I must say to you that this is the finest piece of Holmes fanfiction I've ever read. I'm addicted. Like you I've only recently started out on Sherlock Holmes and am watching the Granada series. Jeremy Brett truely was a remarkable actor and a wonderful person.

Wow. The tension just keeps building and building... You don't let up, and it's driving me insane! Well, not quite that far. I've been nuts for a while. *blink* *changetopic* The writing style is wonderful, and the grammatical errors are getting fewer and farther in between. I can't wait to see what happens next. (I'm also kinda sorta hoping this will work like my last review. After all, as soon as I reviewed, you posted the next chapter. A bit narcissistic, I know, but hey. *shrug* A guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do. I really need to read more of this story. Call it a drug, if you will. *grin*)

And now, for a bit of a Bible lesson. The note at the end naming the book of Leviticus as being the only part of the Bible that deals directly with homosexuality is a bit misleading, being untrue. Not only does Leviticus mention it twice (I think also in 18:something), but Paul (NT) spends a bit of time on it as well. I believe he mentions it in 1 or 2 Corinthians, I know it's mentioned in Romans and I think he also mentions it in Timothy. At one point, he speaks of the punishment of sinners being that man 'will burn in unnatural lust for other men'. I believe he is the only one to mention lesbianism as well (in the same paragraph, actually). In your defence, it is misleading, since he describes the love as 'unnatural', which it would certainly be for a straight man (and probably is the punishment that he's getting at), but not at all for a gay man. When I checked the Biblical index in the NASB version, it referenced homosexuality directly in I believe eight places. (That is a bone I have to pick with them, on account of the fact that the group touting their work as the 'most literal translation' of the bible failed to take into account the fact that the word 'homosexual' wasn't invented until the late 1800's, but I digress.) Suffice to say, the idea of punishment for a God-given trait is mentioned more than once.

In the defence of homosexuals everywhere, I would like to point out that nobody follows Leviticus anymore. Nobody. I have yet to hear of a single group that not only refuses to wear clothing woven of two or more fibres (meaning no cotton-polyester blend), but stones to death any child who speaks out against their parents, refuses to eat anything from the sea that doesn't have scales, and practices ritual animal sacrifice as the 'club soda' to nullify all sins. All of which is advocated in Leviticus just as much as the punishment for homosexuals. And Paul was just weird. As I said before, the idea of God's punishment for sinners being that men would burn with lust for other men hinges on the fact that it would only be unnatural for a straight man.

Now that I've gone off on my tangent, I think I'll come back to say once more that this is a wonderful, amazing story, and that if you don't continue it right now my head just may explode.

And with that comfortable image, I think I'll go to bed.

it's cool to see holmes going into battle again... even cooler that its in the context of his being in love with watson- i guess narratively it reconciles holmes the professional with this new idea of holmes with a heart that he isn't perfectly in control of.

holmes glaring protectively at abigail over josh's head is very cute, as is his assurance to watson that they would prevail. also good of watson to stand by holmes- not try to make cowardly protestations of innocence of the "crime" theyre being accused of. not that watson would ever be a coward when push came to shove, especially where holmes was concerned, but he was waffling before, and it's good to see him start to stand on his friendship.

i'd sort of like to see the bible quote not footnoted- the text explains it, let us find out when watson does.

This story is wonderful! You research it so well (I often find reading Fan Fiction on British authors that you can often tell the fan-fiction writer is American... but I hadn't a clue until I actually checked your profile - *gives Andrea a culture point!*) and the characters are so accurate for the time-line and setting! It's all... so... natural.

So, yes, besides the praise... reasons for reviewing. Ah, yes, Abigail. AKA: THE EVIL. No chance of just killing her off? No? Drat... though I supopse there has to be someone we all love to hate. Just what is that awful woman's motive? Although... admittedly, she doesn't seem the child-harming type.

Is it that she's an interfering relative? Or is it further punishment for poor Watson? ;_;
