![]() ![]() ![]() I cannot express how grateful I am to you for continuing. This chapter was well worth the wait, particularally the scene between Holmes, Watson and Josh at the very end. I am anxiously awaiting to see what lies ahead for Watson now that Julia knows about his and Holmes' true relationship. I will admit I was laughing when she nearly choked from the shock of hearing the news. It is in my sincerest hopes that Holmes and Watson may return to their former lives of tranquility with Josh as a family again. But most of all, and I am rather ashamed I say this, but I hope Holmes and Watson share in the near future an intimate moment between them. This is a brilliant chapter and I look forward to the next one to come, which I hope will be soon! |
![]() ![]() ![]() ahhhh! . update soonn pleez? cuz man! You make a good storry! |
![]() ![]() ![]() Thankyou so much for updating i can understand that each of your chapters is very very long but i really long for the next chapter! Julia has found out thats good you can create some really brilliant drama with this and you have also given me hope that they may end up together again. I might read through the entrire story again to appreciate this new chapter even more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() God, you updated! I was so eager that I had to print it out and take it to my train to read it (I was on my way to my date, and I was so excited that I couldn't let it wait till I get back), great chapter as usual, I just love this! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I was so happy to see you added a new chapter to this fic that I just didn't know quite what to do with myself. I wanted to read it so badly and yet I didn't want to read it because once it was over... I only hope it doesn't take you another 2 years (or almost that) to bring us a new chapter. This fic, is a master piece. |
![]() ![]() ![]() You write Holmes and Watson so very well. excellent chapter. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I found this story by random luck and I couldn't stop reading until the end. Oh my God, so much angst and betrayal ... I vas literally glued to the chair ... Oh god, do not let it end this way ... |
![]() ![]() ![]() I love this story you have created charecters with depth and developement- this is quite a long story but you have maintained my interst story also seems to be the complete opposite of the usual hormonal teenage fangirl rubbish you seem to sympathise with the charecters very much. However the way the story is going so far has lead me to suspect a sad don't make them die or be miserable! they've both suffered too much! Please don't!Or if you do at least make them together at the end and die in prison or something? but you havnt updated in ages please write more. |
![]() ![]() ![]() i love this story you have stuck to it and kept the plot going |
![]() ![]() ![]() Update woman! Just kidding, I've been following this since 2007 now (as in, I check back every few months, so far I have only witnessed one live-update xD) and your new bio and the new chapter of Scandal has given me hope. I realise I should have reviewed earlier, but I just created an account a few minutes ago, especially because of you. Maybe that makes up for it. Anyway, I love this story. I don't really read Holmes fanfiction because it mostly ruins the books, but this here is brilliant and I love, love, love that you have an actual plot and also that you don't neglect any aspect of their life. They have family and cases and you have created an actualy world, an environment for them. So... UPDATE WOMAN! ;) |
![]() ![]() I don't read Holmes and Watson in this relationship at all, but I finished your story because it was very well done. With that said, however, I do have a critiques. As it was so well written, I'm going to give my review the full extent, and not simply wave it away with "it's fanfic." Plus I feel that you want to write professionally and academically beyond fanfic, so I hope you don't take my criticisms as anything but constructive for this and your future writing. I very much like the writing style and most of the characterizations; however, there were a few things to it. For one, Josh was far too smart at much too young of an age (a little too Marty Stu, but not in the harshest extent of the term). Not that children can't be cynical or bitter, but I am not sure why he became so much so in such a short amount of time. Especially with Mrs. Hudson as a stabilizing force in his life (I also don't know why Watson didn't claim that Mrs. Hudson was also Josh's nanny, but that might have disrupted some of the potential angst later on). Yes, Josh was in a losing custody battle over his own father, but it still felt that a softer touch or a more organic evolution would have helped to show his change in attitude. I do like that you went with a non-perfect Watson as father role, but the Holmes-Watson-John dynamic seemed a little too harsh. Pulling back some of the melodrama would really have created less of a negative flow throughout the chapters and improve the overall story. At some points, the story became too constrictive and tight (with little breathing room) and a bit too repetitive in others. Unlike your other Holmes story (the importance one), Holmes here became far too overly co-dependent, far too dramatically flaired and over the top that you lost sight of the character and his own ability to be a fully formed character independent of Watson or John. There were a few times where it felt less Holmes and Watson and more Rimbaud and Verlaine (only the bullet not shot through the wrist in this instance). I also know that you were trying to deal with the homophobia of the time, but fleshing out some of your quasi-antagonists sooner would help make them feel more human and less like standardized two-dimensional antagonists. It's easy to do that with say, Queensbury because he "was" such a horrible human being. But some, like Parks, neded a bit more humanizing. Think of Dickens or even some of the Doyle villains. they coudl be the msot loathsome people in the world, but still feel real or at least charismatic even without the slightest bit of redeeming qualities. I'm not reviewing this to be completely down on you and your writing, but because I think it is a very well written story. I just wanted to point out some of the problems built in so your future stories will be even better. If you wish, I will delete this review, but I at least hope it helps you as wel. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I was utterly prepared to click on the next button for another chapter, thereby being late for my bus and uni... but to my horror, no such button existed! It's very sad indeed to have been on such a journey with these wonderful characters and then be denied the chance to see an end to their story. I think you should be very proud, I have never seen nor watched anything in relation to Sherlock holmes but have since bought three of the series books for immediate reading! Sometimes, even if I have not had a long relationship with a character or book, I can immediately identify something as being precious to myself. Sherlock Holmes has since become precious to me because of the amazing emotions that you have awoken from this story and also because of the realistic way you portrayed the characters. Bravo! One of the best fics I have ever read! |
![]() ![]() ![]() I really liked this story a lot, your writing style makes this all so believable... I do wonder though, will you ever update this? It'd be rather sad if a story as good as this would remain unfinished... |
![]() ![]() ![]() Just found this. Great storytelling. |
![]() ![]() ![]() I don't think I ever read a Sherlock Holmes with such a pairing, written so well, detailed, and amazing! I don't think it feels modern, well, I'm not sure, but the style is certainly very different and unique. I hope you continue this, what a cliffhanger! It's kind of cool how Watson's kid is really smart, and Holme's protege. Sometimes, I like to yell at Watson in your story, even Holmes sometimes, but then, I realize it was probably more realistic toward the original book, had it happen your way. Great job! |
