Thank you for writing!
Lord Peter s one of my favorite characters!
| Joie chapter 1 . 2/5/2010
Well, I don't think it's so mixed up to think of Donne with Wimsey - Donne was Wimsey's favourite author, wasn't he? I think you did quite well.

| rabidsamfan chapter 1 . 3/19/2008
Ah, that's lovely...
| Yt chapter 1 . 11/3/2007
This is really good!
| Elspeth.Davidson chapter 1 . 10/19/2007
I love John Donne! And the poem's application in this circumstance is so appropriate - reflects Wimsey's complexity, but deep affection.
One tiny complaint - this doesn't seem like the Wimsey I know, at least in the vocalization. Of course, one can allow for the emotional strain, but you might have to articulate that.
Other than that, I like it!
| hollybridgetpeppermint chapter 1 . 2/12/2007
i like it! :D
and i don't think you're mixed up...didn't they mention john donne somewhere in the book...? *can't quite remember*
dang, i wish there were more lord peter fics...*sigh* i'd write some, but i don't have any ideas, as of yet...hopefully i will soon, though...
| Verity Kindle chapter 1 . 12/25/2006
No, this is very good! But it needs to be longer!
| lucydamsel chapter 1 . 1/11/2006
I believe that the book says specifically that Lord Peter was silent, so his rather frantic plea seems out of place... but the use of Donne quotations as inclitic for the story is brilliant. Not mixed up - spot on. Do you have theories on which poem she gave him as a wedding present? Myself, I favor "Valediction: Forbidding Mourning", though they might have chosen something less recondite.
| Alice chapter 1 . 11/14/2005
Oh wonderful. I love Sayers. The only thing I'm unsure about is your characterisation of Miss Hillyard-she doesn't seem spiky enough. Otherwise wonderful.
And how can one not associate Donne with Sayers? She quotes him so often...
| emma chapter 1 . 1/25/2005
I thought I was the only one who appreciated Lor W. I like the way you've used some of Sayers' descriptions of him hands. You seem to use the Donne quotations to excellent effect too and I detect the lightness of touch that Sayers uses even in the most profound moments. Cracking!More please!
