Reviews for Escape Artistry
wittylibrarian chapter 6 . 5/16/2004
Interesting, and a very well-thought-out storyline. Just one thing though, at the end, where the villain is (hope I'm not Spoiling) Zeus, it seems a little weak that a deity could be bought off so easily (and that it was rather rude to hand off a list of women to a god like that, very unethical). It might have actually made more sense if it was a human thinking he was that god, isn't there a Maxie Zeus minor villain in Batman's gallery of rogues (it would have tied into the shipping security clue as that was Maxie's original profession, and as a devotee to Greek mythos he would have known about the Amazons' weakness).
Other than those nits, this is still better than 99 percent of the WW stories out there. Congrats!
griffingoalie chapter 6 . 5/10/2004
Loved the story. It brightened my night sitting here bored out of my mind in front of a computer screen. The comedy was great as was your interpretation of Wonder Woman's and Batman's character. Reading the escape lessons was fun with the emotions and humaness of working with ropes and handcufs. Not many people can do such a thing well. Thanks and please continue writing.
Jason chapter 6 . 5/7/2004
Interesting story. WW's been free of that weakness for about eighteen years, btw.
Artemis1088 chapter 6 . 5/5/2004
Hilarious and sweet, and the ending kept true to their characters. Love the Spartan comparison to Batman.
brainfear chapter 6 . 5/2/2004

ReindeerEmu chapter 6 . 4/30/2004
This was damned good! I think you captured Bats martyrdom excellently. and WW's naivety on the complexities of man's world was well done also. Hurry and give us a sequel.
SeaWraith chapter 6 . 4/30/2004
Superb story. Well plotted, well paced, and a fantastic ending. You manage to tell a story that would never be told in canon while having the characters remain true to themselves. Well done.
maninblack chapter 6 . 4/30/2004
Nicely done, and very nicely ended. This is not how I would have treated either Zeus or Batman (especially him liking the comparison to Dienikes), but the way you write it leaves no scope for criticism. Looking forward to more stories from you.
Louie Pastiche chapter 6 . 4/30/2004
So, I was wrong about it being MAXIE Zeus? It was still a great story! And, many readers will no doubt consider Batman just as big an idiot, for turning Diana away. But, there's another old expression they should bear in mind: "once bitten, twice shy." Bruce re-discovered true love only once, during the first ten years after his parents' deaths. That was with Andrea Beaumont. And, look what happened to her! Like it or not, he just cannot take the chance of giving his heart away, to just one person, a second time. Like it or not, the rest of Gotham City needs him just as badly. Maybe, even more so.
Louie Pastiche chapter 5 . 4/30/2004
I had a hunch it would be Maxie Zeus. His mythology fixation makes him a natural for seeing an Amazon, like Diana, as the ultimate trophy-wife!
Louie Pastiche chapter 4 . 4/30/2004
I finally stopped laughing, just this second. THAT WAS BRILLIANT! Just one nitpick, to sort of balance the praise. Unless this is an altverse story, Dick became Nightwing-and Tim Drake became Robin-long before Diana met Bruce (and Vandal Savage's fiance') in Paris.
sampa chapter 6 . 4/30/2004
I think that this is one of the most superbly written pieces I've ever come across. having read it in it's entirety, I wouldn't change a thing.
Thank You
