| tuatara chapter 7 . 11/8/2010 I'm awfully conflicted about this story. The premise is a compelling one, but the execution leaves me scratching my head. It's pretty schizophrenic in terms of tone and characterization, with moods and personalities shifting at the drop of a hat. It's also fairly melodramatic, you know? A bit of a crisis-fest. And what's with Ukyo's secret declaration of revenge? It doesn't even really make sense. Nor does the fact that Akane still hasn't apologized to Ranma. (I feel like that whole thing was done mostly to push Ranma towards Kasumi, anyway.) I dunno, I have trouble taking this story seriously when I don't really believe the characters. I think this one just isn't quite for me. Oh well. |
