Lady Elwen chapter 6 . 9/27/2004 Suilad, Cloaked Eagle ~ Lady Elwen here - feel free to call me Elwen. Regarding your fanfic 'Last Grey Ship', I like your interpretation of Maglor's death. For the record, you're fairly on the mark, since there is no record of Maglor's death. He found the last Silmaril with Maedhros, threw his into the ocean after his brother threw himself into a chasm, and followed the shores for the rest of recorded time, and never passed among Elves. There is also a different password to the 'other' Gate of Moria. It isn't recorded, however, so I figure that you have your freedom there. Your Quenya seems fairly accurate to my eye, and while I know little of archaeology, I see no gaping mistakes obvious to a novice. Minor grammatical structural issues, but nothing that hinders the comprehension levels of the work; I'm simply picky that way. :-) Other than that, nice work. Feel free to email me, but if you do, please put 'fanfiction' or something of that nature in your subject, so I know to check it. Best of luck and happy writing. ~Elwen |
Moose Attacks chapter 6 . 9/27/2004 I remembered to review! Woo, go me! Too bad I don't have much to say. -_-' It wasn't *that* short! Ack, poor Maglor, he had to go into the Mines, mep, I don't like that place. Trees! Um, yes, very very interesting as I've said before. Post the next chapter soon. Maybe I'll actually review it. ;) |
Starwind Rohana chapter 6 . 9/26/2004 Well, the idea of changing geography makes this possible...but do we really build on all sites of power? *Frowns.* Keep i t up! |
Mystical Witch chapter 5 . 9/18/2004 Wouldn't it take a Similiari to reach the Sacred Isle? After all that's how it was done in the First Age. Post soon. |
nana chapter 1 . 9/13/2004 absolutely brilliant!I dont suppose you're going to mention just how the red book came into tolkein's hands? |
Noldo chapter 5 . 9/10/2004 I'm intrigued! Definitely an unusual idea, as (despite the colourful-ness of his personality) we don't see much of Maglor. Also good to see *someone* with British spellings on this website, so yay. |
Redone chapter 5 . 9/8/2004 This is intriguing - both the Maglor timeline (which also we haven't seen in canon) and the "modern" timeline. Especially the latter. |
Writer From Rivendell chapter 5 . 9/5/2004 *smiles* Nesmith? Any relation to Ted Nasmith, the Tolkien artist? As usual, beautiful. For someone presumably new to writing seriously for The Silmarillion, you're doing a brilliant job. |
Moose Attacks chapter 4 . 8/30/2004 I'm *finally* reviewing. *Fwaps self* Anywho, I think this story is great, but you know that already, so I'll talk about this chapter. Poor Maglor. Poor, poor Maglor. *Sniff* I love you, Maglor! Whoa, this Ghardl guy *does* have a slightly idealistic impression of the events of the first age, doesn't he? Heh... _' Woo, Maglor's a good liar. *Is proud; patpats him* Write more! :-P |
Writer From Rivendell chapter 4 . 8/28/2004 This is, again, great. You definitely have talent. |
Faerfaen chapter 4 . 8/25/2004 o.O wow.. I love this! I really cant wait to see what happens ~** Dy *~* |
Ren chapter 4 . 8/21/2004 I'm loving this story so far. Very interesting! Please, update! update! |
BurningTyger chapter 3 . 8/16/2004 I love this. I think I'll get to like Bob and Joe & co. a lot as this goes on, and I really liked the chapter from Maglor's perspective. Much as I hate the idea of my favorite Feanorion being dead, you wrote him very well and it makes perfect sense that he would be tired...I can't wait to read more! |
Redone chapter 3 . 8/16/2004 Oh, very intriguing! And what you said in the Summary promises to make this even more interesting. A bit longer chapters would be better though - not merely because I'm a greedy reader (which I am), but you seem to be able to pull off a serious and fascinating plotline; short chapters IMHO make it sound a lot more trivial than it is. |
Writer From Rivendell chapter 3 . 8/15/2004 *laughs* And you've managed to leave even the nit-picky reviewer speechless. That was fantastic-amazing. It flowed well, it was believeable-to a point, as this is, after all, fiction. Brilliant. And no, I don't say that often. Keep it up. |
