Ack! I'm sorry I didn't review the last chapter! This is SO good, don't undersell yourself! _ So you're Australian? That's awesome! Yeah, I usually don't mind the alternate spellings for words like "honour" or "colour"... I have friends who write with British spellings, and they're pretty similar to Australian spellings as far as I can tell. ~_ And I'm babbling.

Twelve years, huh? I'd say you're not exactly rusty! This is a wonderful story. I get kinda sick and tired of all the people who just wanna go out and off Kenshin, so having an antagonist who just wants an honorable fight is kinda refreshing. This is great, and you definitely need to keep going!

Interesting premise you have here, I'm definitely interested in reading more, I have the feeling there is a lot more to this than a flower and a Shinsengumi member ;) Nothing with the Japanese made me twitch. I've stopped tacking "de gozaru" to Kenshin' sentences in my writing because, now that I'm so much more familiar with Japanese, I know that that usage is wrong and even redundant when applied to an English sentence. But this is fanfiction, and I've seen much worse in other fics. Keep going, onegai! :)

Oh, this is great. What an excellent beginning. I love Kenshin's characterization and how you set things up, from Tae's opening to how he found out about the flowers.

This merchant is an interesting character, too. Can't wait to see what comes of the duel. :)
