First of all, thank you so much for sharing this with us. It was an incredible story that diverged from pretty much every trope that I am familiar with and left me scrambling rather regularly to even guess what would happen next.

Congrats, you've also portrayed McG in all of her dumbles-worshipping-lack-of-independent-thought-capable glory. A little leeway can be given for her long-term animal-brain-state, but, when faced with a kid not falling into line she's just as pathetic of a Teacher - a person responsible for working with Younger People - than she is in canon.
Sadly, Harry is also spot on for his tendency towards whiny-emo-depressed teenager.
Then again, I'm not sure I've seen a teenager with quite as many ridiculously huge expectations on his shoulders and absolutely zero actually helpful adults in his life.

In good news, your portrayal of Harry Potter is spot on.
In bad news, this means that Harry Potter is in his usual position: knee deep and sinking in the shite he could have probably just walked around.

I get that he is not in control of his magic but the fact that he willed things to stop and nothing happened makes it seem that there really isn't anything he will be able to do of any use without thatcontrol. Magic is just another bomb. It's just a matter of time until it will go off in your face.

Lots of stories have things go to shite.
Very few of them have so many things go so bad in so many ways... All at once.
Almost none of those stories actually make sense of things going that bad and you've done all of the above.
I am hopeful that yours will be one of the few that can pull things out of the fires that are lit and raging away throughout the world without the world of being reduced to ashes and cinders first.
