Oh that's nice. I'm not much of a Saavik fan and not a fan of Kirk with anyone except Spock (be it friendship or slash), but I was intrigued by the time frame and title and I enjoyed your story. It was nicely written and I could feel Kirk's resigned despair at the events of the last months and the emotional dryness of his life, emphasized by the Vulcan heat and dust. Kirk and Saavik bonding together made sense, and I think they managed to bring each other a small measure of comfort. I'm very happy I read it. Thanks for sharing :).

The aspect of the story that appeals to me is that both Kirk and Saavik wonder if the sacrifices they made for this Spock were worth it. I like that Kirk feels this anger towards Spock and that Saavik says she feels cold after her experience.

That was incredible and passionate as your stories usually are, but I was left confused and unsettled... Perhaps what you were intending?
