Wow. Four years. Please don't say six to go. I went back and re-read this whole story start to finish as a sort of celebration for the new Robotech: The Shadow chronicles RPG Palladium just put out, and it breaks my heart to see this story dead in the water again.

I first found thins story in the /Seventh Grade/ back in 1997. I've read it so many times I could almost quote it. I printed it out once (I think I still have it buried in a box somewhere, along with you story about Sera and Ariel). Honestly, I love this fanfiction more than i do most published works I have on my shelf, and Dandelions has inspired some many adventures in both my Robotech and Rifts games, and has even influenced my Exalted game.

I've loved, read and re-read this amazing story for eleven years now. i'm burning it onto CD and making sure I have a hardcory version, just to make sure I can never lose track of it and keep enjoying it for more years to come.

...So c'mon. I wanna see how things end!

I found this fic originally on the original third invid war site (it was still up at last check), and have always loved it. To find it here with new chapters is heartening. Though... such a long time since the update...

How the hell could /two years!/ pass already? This is still possibly the best Robotech fiction in Creation (even better than the lamented "Attention on Deck!") and I remember really wishing that it wasn't dead.

Then you posted an update here, and all was right in the world, only now it seems to be slipping back into a depressing torpor.

It's been over 713.25 days! C'mon, even if it's just a rough draft, post something by either Feb 7, 2007 (when Robotech: Shadow Chronicles comes out) or even better, March 2007 (When Palladium re-launches the Robotech RPG!).

Chapter 10: very fine! Not as long as I would have liked given that I have waited the better part of a decade since chapter 9, but a good transition chapter. I hope that you write more of these in less time. I am glad to see the cliffhanger partially resolved, at least. As for plotlines:

Gina: I dunno. She doesn't do much for me and there is the potential for this type of character to overshadow the others whom we know and love. But maybe further developement will improve her: I didn't use to give a crap about Zinnert either until round about chapter 7 when we got some good background on him.

Gwendolyn/Miragai: I didn't know if you planned to adress these two in the future but I always thought I would like to see maybe a short story about what becomes of them.

Amanda: I can totally see her parking her ass outside Kevin's room with a heavy arsenal to scare off would-be Invid killers. Aside from that, I cannot wait to see the complicated relationship between her and Kevin develop further.

Kevin: Oh god, poor bastard :( How come the author's favorite characters always seem to catch the most shit? I see a lot of angst in the future, but at least we know he's going to survive now. He really won me over with that courageous bit near the end, an I wish him all the best.

Matt: Has his hands more than full. 'Nough said.

Siaga: Probably my favorite character from the whole first book. I wish she had survived so I could see more of her, but I think her heroic death suits her better story-wise.

Rest of Elms: Can't wait to see how they each react to Kevin's secret. It should be great fun to watch.

Shkud: A complete ass. Good riddance. Hopefully, we can now see some sneaky subtle, *smart* villainy from Asaav and Oryo'i now that he's not soaking up screentime with his loathsome prattling.

Oryo'i: When I first read Dandelions around 1997, I really liked her. When I re-read it around a year ago, I found her to be a despicable tool (current events tainting my perception and such), even though I can kind of understand why she acts the way she does. That said, she shows more personality in the most recent chapter than she does in the first eight or so combined and is now one of the more promising characters. I actually can't wait to see how she further develops: will she become what she hates, or will she stave off corruption and temptation until the Regis arrives to save the day? I think it could go either way. Also curious about how she will react when she finds out Kevin's alive and would that provoke some kind of crisis of conscience.

Iagur: I like him. Hope to see more of him.

All in all, I cannot wait until you release the next part (now that I know where to look for it) and hope you do not keep us all waiting too long!

So are going to have to wait another ten years for Ch11?

I wish fervently I could write this good.

After a reading marathon of Dandelion's first 10 chapters, I've become a true fan of your style. I loved every minute of the story and can't wait for your next update. It was absolutely awesome.

Yay, you put it up! It's a good little story of everyone retreating to lick their wounds-I particularly liked Iagur and Gina, the new characters.

So you updated, it's not the end of the world. (Turns on CNN, sees Yasser Arafat and Ariel Sharon embracing) Um, that's a good thing, isn't it? (Arafat and Sharon start deep-kissing) UH! (They begin to remove each other's clothes) Yurk! The End Is Upon Us!

So Florrie's angel is an original character, I always thought that it was an astral projection of the pollinater. Gina may still bare further investigation, but guess I'll trust her for now. The character doesn't really grab me (pulls out Self-Inset/Mary Sue detector. Hmm, no serious 'pings' so far. Puts it away.) Hope Fred doesn't go psycho once he learns Kevin's secret. Predict he'll get flip out, but gain control of himself at the last minute and grudgingly accept him. Wonder how Oryo'i (who I gave up on trying to pronounce her real name long ago and just refer to as 'Oreo') will deal with her new position. In the end, who will she side with?
